Hey, Diane

Diane --

In just the past few years, we've seen millions of previously uninsured people get the coverage they need. We've seen students graduate from high school at a higher rate than ever, and more Americans are finishing college than ever before. We've seen millions of people go back to work. We've got an agenda, and we know it works.

And that's what this party is all about, Diane. Middle-class economics. Expanding opportunity.

We're facing our first big fundraising deadline of the year tonight at midnight, and we're going to need your help. We were told by our friends on the other side of the aisle that our actions would destroy the country -- and while it's clear that isn't happening, you can bet they aren't going to let up. I hope you'll pitch in $10 or whatever you can to keep moving this country forward.

If you've saved your payment information, your donation will go through immediately.

Thanks for this, Diane. More than anything, this is all about doing things that make people's lives better -- and we can do that together.

Tonight

Diane --

A budget is more than just numbers on a page -- it reflects our values and our priorities. As my friend Joe Biden likes to say, "Don't tell me what you value. Show me your budget, and I'll tell you what you value."

You don't have to look too hard at the budget House Republicans released earlier this month to figure out what they care about.

Their budget doles out even more to millionaires and billionaires while cutting investments that benefit the middle class. The centerpiece of their plan is to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on more giant tax cuts for those at the top. And if you think this all sounds familiar, that's because this is the same kind of budget Republicans have been proposing for years. It's the same kind of plan we fought against in 2012 -- and won.

So Diane, you already know what we have to do to beat this plan again: Elect more Democrats. Your $10 contribution right now, before the first, big fundraising deadline of this upcoming election at midnight, is how we'll make that happen.

If you've saved your payment information, your donation will go through immediately.

Now, Democrats are offering a different path. The budget I've put forward is built on middle-class economics -- the idea that everybody does best when everybody gets their fair shot, everybody is doing their fair share, and everybody plays by the same rules.

Our budget gives every American the tools they need to get ahead in a fast-paced, highly competitive world. It helps working families feel more secure, and builds a 21st century economy that will allow American businesses to keep churning out high-wage jobs for American workers to fill.

Those are our values, Diane -- values I hope you're as proud as I am to stand by. And they're values that I hope you'll commit to keep fighting for long after I leave office:

Diane -- just wanted to make sure you saw this personal note from First Lady Michelle Obama yesterday.

This amazing opportunity to meet President Obama ends at midnight -- enter now:

Thanks,

-----------ORIGINAL MESSAGE--------------
From: Michelle Obama
Subject: You and Barack should meet

Something I want you to know:

From where Barack and I stand, the work you do is invaluable.

With OFA, you've been an instrumental part of the progress we've fought for -- change that's improving people's lives all across the country. You'll be telling your grandkids about the role you played to help get the job done.

OFA is a force for so much progress -- that's because you never stop organizing, and you're not afraid to tell people why you're part of this movement.

Those stories add up, and they motivate others to join you. Share yours with OFA today, and you could come to D.C. next month to meet with Barack.

Here's my story: After I graduated from law school, I thought I had arrived. I was working in a big corporate law firm in a tall building in Chicago. I was getting a big paycheck and paying off my student loans, and my family was so proud of me.

But soon I began to feel like something was missing. I realized that I didn't want to be up in that skyscraper representing corporate clients. I wanted to be down on the ground helping folks in the neighborhood where I had grown up. So I left that law firm job and started working in city government. I eventually wound up running a non-profit organization called Public Allies that trained young people to serve their communities.

My mother thought I was crazy for giving up my prestigious law firm job, but I was happier than I'd been in years. I woke up every morning excited to go to work, inspired by the people I was working with and the causes we were fighting for.

So that's my story, and now we want to hear yours. And do it right away -- tomorrow is the last day to be automatically entered for the chance to have OFA host you for a meeting with Barack.

Go for it:

http://my.barackobama.com/Share-Your-Moment

Thank you,

Michelle

Question, Diane:

I've got a question for you, Diane: What do health care reform, 60 straight months of private sector job growth, and increased high school graduation rates have in common?

They're all examples of the huge amount of progress we've made in the last six years -- and they were all made possible by Democrats like you.

The Republicans have shown us over and over that what they're really committed to is moving backwards. They're still trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act after five years, they're committed to denying things as simple as science, and they refuse to allow a vote on Loretta Lynch's nomination for Attorney General.

It's clear that if we want to see the important work get done -- like making education affordable for our students, and making progress on climate change -- then we've just got to elect more Democrats, Diane. If you can, chip in $10 or more before tomorrow's big fundraising deadline.

Diane, sign our card for Senator Reid

DemocratsJoin us.
Diane --

I don't have to tell you that Harry Reid is a great Democrat who has made possible so much of what we've accomplished in the past few years.

But some people don't know about all of the little things the Senate Democratic Leader has done to fight for the American people. I've had a chance to work with Harry on legislation to improve swimming pool safety, which saves children's lives, and on a provision we added to the Affordable Care Act that helps young breast cancer patients and survivors. He's a fighter for everyone -- not just the most rich and powerful members of our society.

I hope you'll take a second to add your name to the card we're putting together to thank Senator Reid for everything he's done -- I know it'd mean a lot to him, Diane.

Harry's been a tireless fighter for improving people's lives, advocating for comprehensive immigration reform, a higher minimum wage, and a cleaner environment, and he knows just as you and I do that we're not done fighting for these issues.

I'm excited to continue working with him over the next two years, and I hope you'll join us and let Harry know you appreciate everything he's done:
