A groundbreaking new organizing strategy

Your support for Organizing Corps 2020 will have a measurable impact in determining whether we can elect a Democrat to the White House and win seats nationwide next year.

DemocratsJoin us.
Long before I managed John Kerry's campaign for president or served as Senator Ted Kennedy's chief of staff, I worked as a field organizer.

Organizing was my very first campaign job, and the skills I learned organizing on the ground were lessons I've carried with me through my entire career in Democratic politics. That's just one of the reasons I am asking you to support the DNC's groundbreaking new organizing strategy: Organizing Corps 2020.

Organizing Corps 2020 is a first-of-its-kind program designed to recruit, train, and pay young people to work on the 2020 election, starting this summer. With a special focus on mentoring students from communities of color, this program will help provide our eventual Democratic nominee with as many as 1,000 homegrown field organizers -- a must if we hope to stand a chance against Trump and the RNC's organizing machine -- while providing Corps members an opportunity to build a strong foundation to kickstart their careers in politics.

This program could mean the difference between victory and defeat in key battleground states, so your support will have a measurable impact in determining whether we can elect a Democrat to the White House and win seats nationwide next year -- or whether Trump will occupy the Oval Office for another four years. It costs around $10,000 to put a single organizer through this program, which is a significant investment, but it couldn't be more necessary for our eventual Democratic nominee to be able to win in 2020. That's why I'm asking you directly:

Can you make a $3 donation today to help fund a young person through Organizing Corps 2020 and elect Democrats up and down the ballot next year? Your early support for critical DNC programs like Organizing Corps 2020 will make a tremendous difference.

As a committed member of this grassroots team, you're an important part of the Democratic Party. That's why I want to share a few nitty-gritty details of our strategy for Organizing Corps 2020:

Building our team early: Through Organizing Corps 2020, the national Democratic Party is investing in organizing earlier in a presidential cycle than ever before. We know that scaling up our eventual Democratic nominee's field operation needs to happen early, which is why the DNC and our partners are investing now so we can build a well-trained, talented, and diverse team of homegrown organizers who are eager to hit the ground running the moment the general election begins.

Organizing in key states: This groundbreaking new program will be run in key states that Democrats need to compete in next year for an achievable path to 270. Organizing Corps 2020 was designed to give our eventual nominee a big organizing boost in critically important battleground states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, just to name a few. If we organize in these states like we did in 2018, I believe we can win up and down the ballot next year.

Developing future leaders: In addition to the many incredible ways Organizing Corps 2020 will help lift our eventual Democratic nominee to victory, this program will leave a lasting impact on the future of our politics in our country. Congressman John Lewis started his career as an organizer. Barack Obama started his career as an organizer. Building a diverse bench of young, Democratic talent starts now with Organizing Corps 2020 and it will pay dividends in the years to come.

Thank you for taking the time to read more about why DNC programs like Organizing Corps 2020 are so important to our path to victory in the months and years ahead. With enough support, Democrats can organize earlier, harder, and smarter than ever before -- but this program can't exist without the support of this grassroots team.

Organizing Corps 2020 still isn't fully funded, and it costs about $10,000 to put a young person through the program. Now that you've read about our strategy to defeat Trump and Republicans next year, I hope you'll make a contribution to support DNC programs like this one.

Donate $3 to the DNC to help fund essential programs like Organizing Corps 2020. This program is only possible thanks to the incredible support of grassroots Democrats like you.

Thank you for being a part of this.

There are no "off" years

You made a big difference in the midterms. Join our team to keep up the momentum in 2019.
Diane --

Remember how inspired we felt four months ago? How more Americans than ever before participated in a midterm election? How young people turned out to vote in record numbers, and how so many Americans cast their ballot for the first time in their lives?

That happened because of people like you: Leaders who stepped up to make a difference.

You volunteered. You led voter registration drives. You had important conversations with your friends and family. You made this movement and our country better.

It's time to do it again in 2019.

There are no "off" years when it comes to being a voter. I've always said that voting isn't just about presidential elections -- it's about every election at every level.

Right now volunteers with When We All Vote are involved in more than 30 municipal elections -- including citywide races in Jacksonville, Dallas, Denver, and my hometown of Chicago. States like Kentucky, Louisiana, and Mississippi are electing governors. And so many other communities will head to the polls for races and ballot initiatives that will affect our schools, our neighborhoods, and so much more.

And of course, 2020 is right around the corner. We need to be having conversations with people about the importance of voting right now, making sure that everyone is registered and ready to vote when the time comes.

Our team at When We All Vote has some big plans for how we'll do just that.

But we need your support to make these plans come to life. So I'm asking you, today, to join our team and help us keep up the momentum:

Thank you,

OFA's next chapter

Join the All On The Line campaign today.
All On The Line
Diane --

A few weeks ago, I reached out to tell you about a new chapter in our grassroots movement -- a clearer focus on our fight against gerrymandering so that we can support fair elections and strengthen our democracy.

As part of that effort, I'm asking you to step up -- just as you have done so many times before -- to fight for our shared values. The All On The Line campaign may be a new home for this movement, but the work of grassroots organizing and the mission of perfecting our union remain the same.

On March 23rd, All On The Line will be hosting house parties all over the country -- and I'm asking you to sign up to do the crucial work of organizing in your community.

Will you join our team today and show your support for this important work?

March 23rd is a special day not just because it's All On The Line's day of action, but because it marks the ninth anniversary of the Affordable Care Act. As you know, millions of Americans have health care coverage today because of that law.

Yet that progress remains under attack by political ideologues who've sought to repeal the law without a replacement and from those who've refused to expand Medicaid in their states.

The truth is, gerrymandering makes it a lot easier for politicians to stand in the way of progress on health care. When politicians are voted into an unrepresentative district, they're usually more concerned with a primary opponent than a general election.

That pushes political debates out to the extremes and away from the rational, reasonable solutions that most Americans support. It's true on health care. It's true on climate change. It's true on gun violence. It's true on making progress for working families.

I know that "redistricting" and "gerrymandering" sound awfully wonky. But fair districts couldn't be more important to a functioning democracy. It's the best hope for us to be able to honestly confront the many challenges we face. And with another round of redistricting slated for 2021, the work that we do over the next few years will shape the next decade of our politics.

This is our best shot to shift our elections away from the extremes and unlock possibilities on so many of the issues we all care about. Progress is on the line.

As citizens, we have a shared responsibility to shape the future of our democracy. It's our duty to make sure our leaders match the compassion and decency of the American people. That's what this fight is about and why I'm asking you to step up once again.
