I am respectfully asking

Joe Biden was there every step of the way when he and I navigated crises like H1N1 and the Ebola outbreak.
DemocratsJoin us.

Picture of Barack Obama

There's nobody that I trust more to heal this country and get us back on track than my dear friend Joe Biden -- which is why in just a minute, I'm going to ask you to chip in your very first $7 to the Democratic Unity Fund. First, give me a chance to tell you how I know that Joe is the right person for the job:

Joe Biden was there every step of the way when he and I navigated crises like H1N1 and the Ebola outbreak, successfully preventing pandemics like the one gripping America today.

He oversaw implementation of the Recovery Act, pulling our country out of the worst economic recession since the Great Depression and putting it on the path for record job creation.

And Joe was right by my side as we tackled some of our nation's biggest challenges, never wavering from his core principles of decency, honesty, and dignity for working people.

I'm doing everything I possibly can to help make sure that Joe Biden -- not to mention Democratic candidates all across our country -- can win their races this November. But I can't do that alone. No single person can. That is why I launched the Democratic Unity Fund, and why I'm calling on you to show your support at this critical turning point in the race.

The Democratic Unity Fund is more than just a symbolic gesture of unity -- it's a central part of our strategy to not only win the Oval Office, but to flip the Senate, expand our majority in the House, and elect Democrats to offices all the way down to the local level. The results of this election hinge on what this team is able to accomplish together over these next few critical months, and the outcome of this race could echo for generations.

We've only got 95 days left until the most consequential election of our lifetimes, and I say that having run for president twice. So, will you donate your first ever $7 to the Democratic Unity Fund? We have to give this race everything we've got.

I want to take this opportunity to make one thing very clear: Joe may be a dear friend of mine, but that's far from the only reason why I believe he has what it takes to be our next president.

He was a trusted, battle-tested advisor through our eight years together in the White House -- and today, I'm proud to stand alongside him as he fights to restore what he often calls "the soul of America." Fully funding the Democratic Unity Fund through these next three crucial months until the election will give Joe, and Democrats in all 50 states, the best possible shot at winning their races.

If you can, I am asking you to donate your first $7 to the DNC's Democratic Unity Fund. Every dollar of every investment made today will push us closer to electing Joe Biden and Democrats in every corner of our country.

We can win this if we work together.

Yours,

Barack Obama

P.S. If everyone on this grassroots team could pitch in, the Democratic Unity Fund would have enough resources to help carry Joe Biden and Democrats nationwide across the finish line. But I know that's not realistic for many of you reading this email right now -- and that's OK. However, a donation at this major stage of the race would make a big difference, so if you can, please make your first $7 donation directly to the Democratic Unity Fund today.

Diane -- We could not agree more with what Eric Holder had to say about defeating Trump this year:

“This presidential election is an existential election.
Democrats have to win.”

But that can't be the only thing Democrats accomplish in 2020. We have a singular opportunity to win down-ballot races and flip chambers to get Democrats a seat at the table for redistricting next year, and we have to take it. If we don't, Republicans could end up manipulating the maps for another decade.

In the words of President Obama, "In 2021, we have a once-in-a-decade chance to make sure the rules of the road for our democracy are fair and that we have districts that truly represent the people."

That effort starts with making sure all Americans can vote in 2020. But with Republicans spending $20 million to prevent fair voting, we've never needed your help more.

Will you donate to help us achieve fair elections in 2020 and fair redistricting next year?

Barack Obama: The NDRC's work can change our entire political system for the better.

Diane, we're in this fight because our democracy is on the line. When Republicans suppress the vote and gerrymander districts, the people's voices aren't being heard.

That leads to all sorts of skewed policy outcomes. It's why Congress and state legislatures have been too slow to take on pressing issues like gun violence and climate change.

President Obama understands what is needed -- that's why he's supported the NDRC since our launch in 2017. And now that we have just over three months left until the most significant election of our lifetimes, our work is more vital than ever.

Will you become an NDRC donor to help us crush GOP voter suppression and demand a fair redistricting in 2021?

Thanks,
Garrett

re: President Obama's announcement

President Barack Obama announced the Democratic Unity Fund over a year ago.
DemocratsJoin us.

Over one year ago, President Barack Obama formally announced the launch of the Democratic Unity Fund:

The Democratic Unity Fund is a promise that no matter who earns our nomination, he or she will have a strong, united, and well-prepared DNC ready to lift them to victory. - Barack Obama

President Obama wasn't alone -- soon, nearly every presidential primary candidate, along with over 227,303 grassroots supporters, endorsed the Democratic Unity Fund.

Now, Democrats are coming together to lift Vice President Joe Biden and down-ballot Democrats to victory in November.

Election Day is November 3

This is the moment the Democratic Unity Fund was made for -- and we cannot slow down one bit. While the Democratic Unity Fund is already improving the data and technology that power thousands of Democratic campaigns across the country, there's still so much more to do right now -- especially because we're now just three days away from our most important FEC fundraising deadline yet.

Here's what we have on file for you:

Here's what the DNC has on file for you:

Donate $7 to the Democratic Unity Fund before this Friday's end-of-month deadline to help elect Joe Biden and Democrats down the ticket this November. Once this deadline wraps up, we'll be making some major funding decisions about the race, so even a small gift before Friday's deadline would make a difference.

What we're able to accomplish in the coming months is going to have a serious impact on our party's success in November. And though our world has changed drastically in the last few months, it remains true that there's more that unites our party than sets us apart. By powering the tools that campaigns use to contact voters online and train organizers, the Democratic Unity Fund is critical to bringing our party together to elect VP Joe Biden and Democrats nationwide.

We don't have a Democratic Unity Fund gift on file for you just yet. If you can, I really hope you'll donate to support the important work we're doing to elect VP Joe Biden to the White House, take back the Senate, hold our House majority, and elect Democrats down the ticket. We're putting in the elbow grease to scale up key programs right now -- so your support before Friday's crucial July deadline would mean so much.

Make a $7 donation to support the Democratic Unity Fund and build the strong DNC Democrats nationwide are counting on to win. Every donation our party receives before Friday at midnight will get us closer to hitting this goal and building the tools we need to elect Joe Biden and Democrats everywhere.

Thank you for being on this team,

Jessalyn

Senior Mobilization Advisor
Democratic National Committee

P.S. I know you've received quite a few emails from our party asking for money -- that's because this deadline is just too important to risk falling short. Friday's deadline is just three days away, so there's never been a more urgent time to make your first $7 donation directly to the Democratic Unity Fund.
