The Student Aid Bill of Rights:

Friend --

I believe that this country is a place where higher education isn't just reserved for a privileged few. As a Democrat, you're probably with me on that.

That's why earlier this year I announced my plan to give hardworking students two free years at community college, why I signed student loan reform into law five years ago, and why I'm constantly trying to find ways to improve access to education at every level.

It's also why I outlined a Student Aid Bill of Rights last week -- so young folks all over the country can take advantage of opportunities that may not have been accessible before. If this is something you believe in too, let me know right now.

We're trying to make sure that more and more young people can afford to go to college across the board. Here's what the Student Aid Bill of Rights says every student should have access to:
  • Quality, affordable higher education
  • The resources students need to pay for college
  • An affordable repayment plan for student loans
  • Quality customer service, reliable information, and fair treatment when repaying loans
I believe that higher education is the surest path to the middle class -- and making that education more accessible is one of the best things we can do for the country. But I can't do this without the support of Democrats like you. I hope you'll add your name to mine:

Our young people are full of potential. Let's make sure we see them through.
