The first thing you need to know

I'm excited to give you the details of our 2021 strategy to stop Republican's efforts to gerrymander and suppress the vote.

Diane -- I'm excited to give you the details of our 2021 strategy to stop Republicans' efforts to gerrymander and suppress the vote. This is going to be a longer email, so if you don't have time to read the whole thing I understand -- but I hope you'll pitch in toward our end-of-quarter goal. We only have until midnight tomorrow to reach it and we're still short.

The first thing you need to know is that redistricting has begun. Everything we've done for the past four years has led up to this moment: helping Democrats win elections in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 to make sure they get a seat at the table for redistricting. Helping ensure that, unlike in 2011, Republicans don't have a lock on the entire process.

We also supported several states in passing redistricting reforms, which will mean more fairness in the next decade's worth of elections. And I want to thank you, Diane, because you were a huge part of all of that work.

So where are we now? Despite our achievements, Republicans are eager to manipulate the maps again. And they think they'll be able to get away with it. Our job is to prove them wrong.

To do that, we're honing in on 15 battleground states where we will work diligently and carefully to get the fairest possible maps. Hitting our $120,000 end-of-quarter goal will help ensure that we have enough resources for every one of those states. Help us out with a donation if you can.

There are a couple of extra challenges. First, this year the redistricting process is likely to be shortened because of COVID-19-related delays in getting census data to the states. That means we have to be even more vigilant to prevent Republicans from pushing through manipulated maps without any accountability or transparency.

At the same time, GOP legislators are working overtime to pass harmful voter suppression bills, and we have to call attention to this coordinated campaign to block access to the ballot box. Finally, there's action on the federal level, too: The democracy-reforming For the People Act passed in the House this month and we need to get it through the Senate.

Is it a lot of work? Yes. But this is the moment we were made for. When A.G. Holder launched the NDRC with the support of President Obama, he knew there would be obstacles. So far we've overcome every one of them with your help -- and I know the same will be true in 2021.

Diane, if you believe in the work we're doing to restore our democracy and make sure everyone has an equal say in the direction of our country, I'm asking you to make a donation today to support the NDRC. Will you pitch in to our end-of-quarter goal?

Gratefully,

Kelly Burton
President

A.G. Holder: If the NDRC is successful in undoing manipulated maps, we will be able to achieve a system in which everyone's vote counts.

Since 2017, the NDRC has executed a comprehensive redistricting strategy that shifts the redistricting power, creating fair districts where Democrats can compete. Our victories have been made possible by our strong community of grassroots supporters.

If you want to receive periodic updates from the NDRC on our fight for fair maps, text MAPS to 36787. Text HELP for help, STOP to end. Msg & Data rates may apply.

We know we send a lot of emails, but we think it's important to keep you updated with the latest information on Republican gerrymandering and voter suppression and how we're fighting back -- regardless of whether you choose to donate. Every dollar you give will go toward our fight to end gerrymandering and voter suppression.
