A note from the NDRC team…

We want to acknowledge that the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade is hitting many people hard. This decision will cause tremendous harm. The NDRC is committed to working for a future in which all human rights are protected.

Diane,

Over the past few years, the National Democratic Redistricting Committee and its affiliates have made remarkable progress toward fairer redistricting. As we head into the midterm elections this fall, I'm proud to say that the majority of Americans now have either a neutral or net improvement on the fairness of their congressional map.

That doesn't mean our work is finished. In fact, the upcoming midterm elections present a unique opportunity to build on the progress we've made at both the state legislative and congressional level, prevent backtracking, and hold the politicians who continue to gerrymander and undermine our democracy accountable.

And so, the NDRC has announced its initial 2022 electoral targets — races that will impact the future of fair redistricting and democracy. I'm asking you to make a donation to help the NDRC invest in supporting those critical races and continue our fight for fair maps.

I know this has been a long journey. The fact is, the fight for fair maps is part of the fight to protect our democracy — and neither will be solved in just one redistricting cycle. Our opposition is counting on the NDRC to lose the energy and drive that our movement has sustained so far. We simply cannot afford to do that.

Instead, I'm urging you to continue helping the NDRC deploy its proven strategy to ensure that voters decide our elections — not politicians. The best way to do that is to make a donation of $10 or more today.

Can I count on you, Diane?

Thank you,
Barack Obama
