"I'm urging you to continue helping the NDRC deploy its proven strategy."
- President Obama

Diane,

I want to explain how the NDRC has shifted our strategy in response to changing circumstances. (This might get long, so if you don't have time to read the whole thing but would like to contribute, please click this link.)

For the past five years, the NDRC has built an effective model that changed the redistricting landscape. By starting early, we helped shift the balance of power, built a robust grassroots network, and mobilized record levels of public engagement in the redistricting process, leading to the fairest districts this country has seen in a generation.

But redistricting has always been part of the larger fight to protect our democracy – and with MAGA election deniers winning Republican primaries, the threat to our fundamental system of government is greater than ever.

So building on our effective model that highlighted the most important races for redistricting, the NDRC is applying that same approach to shine a spotlight on races that are essential to safeguarding our democracy.

The last quarterly goal before Election Day is coming up – will you donate now?

What does this actually mean? It means we're supporting:

  • 12 candidates running for governor,
  • 5 for secretary of state,
  • 1 for state auditor,
  • 212 for state House,
  • and 83 for state Senate – all of whom could be the last line of defense against the dismantling of our democracy.

(This is on top of our work to preserve and expand access to voting and protect election infrastructure and administration across the country. Please chip in to support us.)

Here's the thing: Like all of our work over the past five years, our projects will only be successful if our grassroots community contributes. This Friday is the most important deadline of the election cycle so far. I need to know you're on board so we can plan out our race to the finish line.

So Diane, can the NDRC and I count on you?

In gratitude
Kelly
