President Obama: Redistricting is no longer a once-a-decade event. The fight for fair maps is happening right now.

Depending on what we do over the next few months, one of two things will happen:

(1) The districts at stake before the 2024 election are enough to return the national congressional map to a nearly insurmountable Republican gerrymander. That means if we let the GOP get away with re-securing gerrymandered maps, Republicans could run up the score in the House before a single ballot is even cast in 2024.

(2) However, if we combat their efforts to gerrymander (like we did in 2022, when our work helped secure the fairest maps in a generation), Americans will have a fairer, more representative map ahead of a highly consequential election.
