Will you sign President Obama's card?

I know that you're fighting tirelessly, day in and day out for justice, which is why I wanted to give you the special opportunity to sign President Obama's birthday card.

DemocratsJoin us.
Today, President Obama will celebrate his 57th birthday. I wanted to give you an opportunity to wish him a happy birthday, and let him know that you're fighting to elect Democrats across the country who will put our nation back on the right path.

Today, with Trump and the GOP at the helm, our country is in chaos and the eight years we spent making progress under President Obama seems like ages ago. But as President Obama once said, "...progress will come in fits and starts. It's not always a straight line. It's not always a smooth path."

History books will judge the actions we take today, and whether we act on the opportunities in front of us. There is a critical and urgent need to correct our nation's path.

This year's midterm elections are our chance to elect Democrats to office who believe in the justice and equality that President Obama taught us to strive for. We know nothing happens by chance -- we must work for each and every victory. With only three months to go, we've got a lot of work to get done.

Something exciting is happening across the country. There is momentum on our side, but it's up to you to turn the tremendous potential Democrats have for electoral victory in 2018 into a reality.

I was honored to have served in President Obama's Cabinet and to have worked alongside him to level the playing field for every American. And I know how tough it is to see our progress undone. So I'm asking you to take action today.

Celebrate President Obama's 57th birthday by letting him know that you're fighting to put our nation back on track by electing Democrats. Add your name to sign his card today.

SIGN THE CARD

President Trump and Republicans in Congress have made it quite clear that they will stop at absolutely nothing in their attempts to undo all the progress we made under President Obama's leadership. So if you still care about protecting access to affordable health care, protecting our environment, ensuring equal pay for women and equal rights for the LGBTQ community, and passing commonsense gun laws, you must join the fight to elect Democrats up and down the ballot this year.

I am not exaggerating when I say that the future of our country is on the line. We simply must do everything we can to set ourselves up for victory this year and beyond -- the costs are too high if we fail.

Together we can help elect Democrats to office at every level, from the school board to the Senate. I'm inspired by our Democratic candidates stepping up to run for office -- and right now our party is supporting thousands of campaigns across the country through three important programs:
  • The IWillVote campaign is an ambitious plan to reach 50 million American voters between now and Election Day. Through this effort, we're inspiring people to commit to vote, helping them register, providing voter education and protection, and making sure they cast their ballot.
  • The Best Practices Institute is providing state parties and individual candidates at all levels with the information and tools they need to grow their base of support and build winning campaigns.
  • The Every ZIP Code Counts program is an increased contribution of $10,000 per month to every state party to help them win local, statewide, and national elections in an election year that could be a turning point for America.
Together we can implement these winning strategies, organize in every state across the country, and take back control of the House and the Senate.

Take a moment to sign President Obama's birthday card to tell him you're committed to helping the DNC elect Democrats to office who believe in our shared Democratic values.

This isn't just about the progress we made under President Obama -- it's about the future of our country. If I may borrow President Obama's words once more: "We should do everything we can to make sure this country lives up to our children's expectations."

Thank you for joining the fight to elect Democrats across the country.

All my best,

Tom
