I'm in charge of the DNC emails you receive each day. This is why they're so important:

This election is bigger than any one of us.
DemocratsJoin us.

Hey there,

I'm Jose Cornejo, and I'm the email director here at the Democratic National Committee. With Tuesday's quarterly FEC deadline just days away, I hope you'll give me a minute to explain how your support of the Democratic Unity Fund right now can make a tangible difference in this race, and then donate $7 to the fund.

President Obama joined forces with the DNC last May to announce the Democratic Unity Fund. The goal was simple: To build the critical party infrastructure that our eventual presidential nominee and Democrats running for office nationwide will need to take on the GOP's huge fundraising lead. Trump and the RNC raised over $400 million last year alone. That is a staggering sum of money to compete with.

$400,000,000

Friend, we're only five days away from our first quarterly deadline of 2020 -- a critical milestone in our race for the White House and seats down the ticket. Right now, we're still NOT where we need to be to fully support the Democratic Unity Fund. I'm looking over the numbers, and we still need 47 more people to step up from Montross to hit our goal this quarter. That's why I'm urging you:

Will you donate $7 to the Democratic Unity Fund for the first time today, before Tuesday's critical end-of-quarter deadline? Your contribution will go directly towards funding the resources Democrats need to win everywhere this November.

It's my job to track the donations made through emails like this one on a daily basis, so I can tell you with full confidence that every single donation makes an impact. Every gift -- no matter how big or small -- affects the strategic decisions regarding where the DNC can and should invest its resources.

The primary process has been long and costly, and the very last thing our nominee needs is to be out of money before the general election even begins. That's why the Democratic Unity Fund is so essential to a Democratic win in November -- without adequate resources, our eventual nominee is left vulnerable against Trump and the RNC's war chest.

You're a valuable member of this team, so I'm relying on you to pitch in: Be one of 47 more people from Montross to donate $7 to the Democratic Unity Fund before Tuesday's deadline to give Democrats running for office this year a fighting chance.

This election is bigger than any one of us. Thank you for doing your part.

Jose
