An important dissent from Justice Kagan

And what All On The Line is doing about it.

This past June, the Supreme Court -- headed by Chief Justice John Roberts and filled with conservative-leaning justices like Brett Kavanaugh -- ruled that the federal courts cannot, and would not, limit partisan gerrymandering. In her dissent, Justice Elena Kagan wrote that: "For the first time in this nation's history, the majority declares that it can do nothing about an acknowledged constitutional violation." Unlike the conservative majority, we didn't just stand by and do nothing.

All On The Line has been been working in each and every one of our target states to put an end to gerrymandering. As President Obama said, this decision has made the work at the state and local level that much more important. And A.G. Holder agrees:

We're now going to have to go state by state to protect people's voting rights.
-- Eric H. Holder, Jr.

And we're doing just that. Since the federal courts won't stop partisan gerrymandering, we're tailoring our organizing to stop map manipulation in the states. We have staff in place and we've built plans for each of our target states, but we need our supporters to make their voices heard.

Add your name to demand that every justice on the Supreme Court upholds their constitutional duty to protect voting rights.
