I was proud to be there with A.G. Holder when he launched the NDRC with President Obama’s support back in 2017. In the three years since then we’ve had countless successes (as well as a few setbacks, like when the Supreme Court ruled that federal courts can’t limit partisan gerrymandering).

But now we’re in the middle of what could be the most important election year of any of our lifetimes, and the last year before redistricting. What happens in the next four months will determine the future of our country and whether we have fair elections for the next decade.

We’re off to a strong start. Thanks to folks like you, we’ve already made investments in four 2020 target states -- Ohio, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Texas -- and endorsed 67 state legislative candidates.

Now it’s time for the second round of investments. We’re making the announcement on Tuesday. But where and how much we invest will depend on how much we can raise before midnight tomorrow, our end-of-quarter deadline.

There’s no question about it: more than ever before, 2020 is the year Democrats need to go big. It’s not enough to win the White House -- although yes, that’s critically important. We need to flip as many statehouses as we can because if we don’t, Republicans will control the maps and block our progress for another 10 years.

Diane, issues like racial justice, climate change, gun violence, and health care can’t wait another 10 years.

That’s why I want our announcement on Tuesday to be MASSIVE. But the money has to be there to back it up. So here’s where I make my ask (thank you for reading to the end!):
