Asking you to stand with Joe and Kamala tonight

I'm coming to you today as a fellow American with a very important question.

Trump likes to call me "the woman in Michigan," and around here I'm sometimes known as the "fix the damn roads lady" -- but I'm coming to you today as a fellow American with a very important question. Before our convention begins tonight, will you pitch in a couple of bucks to elect Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Democrats down-ballot? We, the people, deserve better from our president. COVID-19 isn't going anywhere soon, and we need to elect a president who takes this pandemic seriously -- someone who will listen to scientists and take immediate action to help see Americans through this difficult time. We need to elect Joe Biden. And the only way to do that is by coming together and doing the hard work it's going to take to reach voters in every corner of this country before Election Day. Kamala Harris has years of experience serving her people as Attorney General of California and in the Senate. She is an advocate for change, and I know she will do a great job as our Vice President. But there's one more piece to this puzzle -- us. We know that winning this election isn't going to be easy, and Donald Trump is going to do everything in his power to stop us. So Joe and Kamala need us -- all of us -- to step up and have their backs as they go into the final phase of this race.
