Tonight was dark. In the backdrop of a pandemic, when so many in this country are suffering, Republicans just spent the first night of their convention touting the "accomplishments" of a president who has failed the test of leadership at nearly every turn. From what we witnessed tonight, this RNC is already shaping up to be nothing more than a four-day celebration of Trump and his failed presidency.
This week, the broken GOP is going to try to smear, denigrate, and divide the Democratic Party and our Biden-Harris ticket because they think our movement is a risk to their power. They're right. Together, we can elect Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Democrats everywhere who will begin to reverse the harm Republicans have caused and begin the long journey toward justice that America is ready for. But that can only happen with the support of a strong, well-resourced Democratic Unity Fund.

Right now, we need to come together and elect leaders who will lead with compassion, integrity, and understanding of what it means to be in service to this country and to the people in it.
We already know who the Republican Party is. Right now is the time to focus on who we are and what we're capable of when we come together.
Just last week, a dear friend of mine, Barack Obama, reminded us all of that when he said, "You can give our democracy new meaning. You can take it to a better place." And that's exactly what we intend to do. But to make that happen, we need you, a historically unified Democratic Party, and a strong Democratic Unity Fund.
Ahead of November, we must stay laser-focused on executing our 2020 strategy and doing everything we can to get out the vote, but it is going to take a tremendous amount of resources to do that. Which is why I'm asking:
