The President's message for you:

Organizing for Action
Diane --

You're probably hearing a lot about Obamacare's website glitches, especially from health reform's opponents.

Let's be clear about this -- it's absolutely frustrating to know that while hundreds of thousands of people have filled out applications for affordable coverage online, there are many who haven't been able to because of technical problems.

That's why President Obama recorded a personal message for OFA supporters -- he wants to speak directly to you on where we go from here, and why he needs your support even more over the next five months.

Watch the President's message for you -- then join Team Obamacare to help make sure people know the facts about Obamacare.

The President's message for OFA

The reality is that Obamacare is more than just a website -- it's a law that is already helping millions of Americans get better, more affordable coverage. And anyone looking to shop for coverage can do so in person or over the phone, as well.

And in spite of everything that's happened in Washington over the past few weeks, one thing hasn't changed:

Obamacare is still the law of the land.

Over the next five months, it's going to be up to people like us to make sure folks know the facts about how to get covered, and how the law is already working for them and their loved ones.

Watch the President's message just for you, then join Team Obamacare:

Let's beat the guy who sued to end Obamacare

You are receiving this message as an Obama for America supporter.

Diane --

Despite what you might hear from the media, the next election isn't in 2016 or 2014. In Virginia, it's just 22 days away, and there's a lot on the line.

My close friend Terry McAuliffe is running for governor (he'll be a great one!) against a guy who's really out there.

Ken Cuccinelli took legal action against one of the country's best universities (which happened to be his OWN client) because he disagreed with a study on climate change research. He's one of those people who still doesn't believe in global warming.

Oh, and he was the first person in the United States to sue the federal government to overturn the Affordable Care Act.

This is one of the races where we need to do everything we can now.

Please donate $10 or more to help us elect Democrats like Terry McAuliffe and protect the progress we've made together.

Many of the same people working to undermine the President's agenda are spending millions trying to prop up Cuccinelli's campaign.

We've seen what a small group of Republicans backed by very wealthy special interest groups can do. They're making it harder for poor folks to vote in Texas. They're trying to nullify federal laws they don't agree with in Mississippi. And they've forced an unnecessary and damaging government shutdown -- something I hoped never to see again.

So here's what we have to do -- we need to fight in all of these battles, we need to win this election, elect Terry McAuliffe, and send this powerful message:

They want to repeal the Affordable Care Act. We want it to work.

We don't want to make it harder to vote. We want every American to be able to participate.

And we don't want to keep the government shut down. We want it to be open for business so our economy can grow.

Please chip in $10 or more to help us work for Terry McAuliffe and Democrats around the country:

Let's go,

Bill Clinton

Quick update:

Organizing for Action
Diane --

I wanted to pass along a quick update on what's going on in Washington right now.

The first thing you need to know is that what you're doing is working -- brand-new polling shows that the House Republicans who caused this shutdown are hitting historic lows in popularity. And, for the first time in this fight, House leadership has acknowledged that they need to come back from the ledge and work on a real solution.

Our voices are being heard. Now, keep going.

We're asking everyone to tweet with the hashtag #EnoughAlready today -- you should send that message to Speaker Boehner and the Tea Party, to your representative, and to anyone else you think needs to hear it.

Tweet Now

If you're looking for ideas on things to say, here are a few suggestions:

-- .@SpeakerBoehner, it's time to stand up to the Tea Party Republicans who are sabotaging our economy. #EnoughAlready

    -- 11 days of a government shutdown is 11 too many, @SpeakerBoehner. #EnoughAlready

-- Americans want Congress to do its job. @SpeakerBoehner: #EnoughAlready

President Obama has asked Congress to come up with a solution that re-opens the government, pays our bills, and gets back to the business of growing the economy and creating jobs.

Now is the time to send a strong message on Twitter (and anywhere else you want to drive it home). Tell John Boehner and the lawmakers who need to hear from you today -- enough already:

P.S. -- We sent a crew out to hear from ordinary Americans about what's going on in Washington -- you won't be surprised to know they're fed up. Take a look at what we heard -- and add your name.

S̶p̶e̶a̶k̶e̶r̶ Boehner

You are receiving this message as an Obama for America supporter.
The Democratic National Committee is solely responsible for the content of this message.
Load images to see how Democrats are building momentum.
Republicans may have a majority in the House today,
but the polls show that Democrats could take over in 2014.
Democrats have a lead over Republican incumbents in 17 districts.
And 17 seats are all we need to take back the majority.
Which would mean:
Replacing John Boehner as Speaker of the House
and more Congressional support for President Obama's agenda.
Keep this momentum going.
Chip in today.

The President wants to know if you're on Team Obamacare

Organizing for Action
Diane --

It's been an intense few days, but I want to take a step back and point something out:

No matter how many times some Republicans in Washington tried to stop it -- and despite the fact that John Boehner has taken us all the way to a government shutdown over it -- Obamacare is here to stay, and the insurance marketplace is open for business.

Starting this week, millions of uninsured Americans will have access to affordable health coverage -- many for the first time. That's a big reason to be proud of the team you're on.

President Obama took a few minutes to record a personal message for OFA supporters -- and I want you to see it.

Watch the President's video, and then join Team Obamacare, the people working to make sure the law is a success.

The President's message for OFA

It took decades to make health care reform a reality -- but now that Congress has passed it, the President signed it, and the Supreme Court upheld it, we can finally celebrate this historic progress.

So, whether you've been working toward this for years, or you're just now signing up to help fight the lies and scare tactics trying to prevent people from getting health insurance -- we need you on the team:

http://my.barackobama.com/Message-from-the-President

Now, let's finish the job we started -- go Obamacare!

Thanks,

Jon

Tweet Rep. Wittman: End the shutdown

Organizing for Action
Diane --

It's the fourth day of the government shutdown, and House Speaker John Boehner is still letting the same group of House Republicans who drove us here run the show.

Your member of Congress -- Representative Rob Wittman -- voted to force the shutdown.

Today, we're asking everyone who's fed up to say "Enough already!" We're taking to Twitter, and I hope you'll join in.

Tweet at Rep. Wittman right now -- say you're calling out the people responsible for the shutdown and will not put up with anyone who's trying to sabotage the economy.

Tweet Now

If you're not on Twitter, it's easy to start. It's a place where many members of Congress and their staffers try to drive the narrative of the day -- right now, some members of Congress think they can get away with blaming this shutdown on President Obama.

It's Congress' job to fund the government. It's Congress' job to make sure they pay their bills. Anything less is failure.

What makes this worse is that some of these Republicans are arguing that they're listening to their constituents -- that Americans actually wanted a shutdown.

You and I know that's not true -- it's time to call them on it.

Tell Rep. Wittman this is economic sabotage, and it's got to stop now:
