President Obama hasn't given up hope

And neither should you.

Diane -- When the Supreme Court ruled that federal courts won't limit partisan gerrymandering, it was a setback for our movement. But as President Obama said:

That ruling can't stop citizens from doing what it takes to protect our democracy and ensure that the rules of the road are fair. At the end of the day, it's up to us -- Barack Obama. DONATE TO HELP THE NDRC PROTECT OUR DEMOCRACY

With another vacancy now on the Supreme Court, our movement could be facing more setbacks in the years ahead. If we lose another seat to a conservative justice, it could make our work to fight racial gerrymanders and enforce the Voting Rights Act that much harder.

But we've always known we can't depend on a single court or court decision to advance our movement. That's why we've always been focused on our state-by-state strategy for political change -- and that strategy has earned us some big wins since we started in 2017.

Our biggest test yet is coming up in just over a month, though, and as President Obama said, it's up to us to get the job done. We're targeting state legislatures across 10 target states this November, and we need your help to get Democrats to the redistricting table in all of them.

Will you pitch in before tonight's midnight deadline to help us reach our end-of-month goal so we can keep up our work to defend voting rights and end GOP gerrymandering?

Thanks,
Team NDRC

Since 2017, the NDRC has executed a comprehensive redistricting strategy that shifts the redistricting power, creating fair districts where Democrats can compete. Our victories have been made possible by our strong community of grassroots supporters. But 2020 will be our most important -- and toughest -- year yet. It's the last year before redistricting, which means it's our last chance to elect the Democrats we trust to fight for fair maps.

We know we send a lot of emails, but we think it's important to keep you updated with the latest information on Republican gerrymandering and voter suppression and how we're fighting back -- regardless of whether you choose to donate. What Mitch doesn't understand

We set a goal of raising $22,500 by midnight on Wednesday to show McConnell and his party that their obstruction is no match against our grassroots movement.

Diane -- Mitch McConnell would rather help the president ram through unqualified, ideological judges to the federal courts instead of passing legislation that prioritizes protecting our elections.

NPR: With a boost from the Republican-led Senate, President Trump has now confirmed 200 federal judges. Each one has a life term, representing a legacy that could extend for a generation.

The Senate majority leader knows that if he can stonewall legislation that protects our elections and get our courts to side with him, he can help manipulate the maps for another decade.

Barack Obama: Those maps will stand for 10 years, that could mean a decade of fairly drawn districts where folks have an equal voice in their government, or it could mean a decade of unfair partisan gerrymandering.

But here's what McConnell doesn't understand: we have a grassroots army that will fight to stop all of his attempts to undermine our democracy.

We set a goal to raise $22,500 by Wednesday at midnight to help combat McConnell's obstruction and are $18,191 away from our goal. Can you chip in and support our work?

As I said when I emailed you Saturday, together we can stop McConnell's obstruction. Our state-by-state strategy for political change can be a path to victory -- but we need to take action now.
