The first thing you need to know

I'm excited to give you the details of our 2021 strategy to stop Republican's efforts to gerrymander and suppress the vote.

Diane -- I'm excited to give you the details of our 2021 strategy to stop Republicans' efforts to gerrymander and suppress the vote. This is going to be a longer email, so if you don't have time to read the whole thing I understand -- but I hope you'll pitch in toward our end-of-quarter goal. We only have until midnight tomorrow to reach it and we're still short.

The first thing you need to know is that redistricting has begun. Everything we've done for the past four years has led up to this moment: helping Democrats win elections in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 to make sure they get a seat at the table for redistricting. Helping ensure that, unlike in 2011, Republicans don't have a lock on the entire process.

We also supported several states in passing redistricting reforms, which will mean more fairness in the next decade's worth of elections. And I want to thank you, Diane, because you were a huge part of all of that work.

So where are we now? Despite our achievements, Republicans are eager to manipulate the maps again. And they think they'll be able to get away with it. Our job is to prove them wrong.

To do that, we're honing in on 15 battleground states where we will work diligently and carefully to get the fairest possible maps. Hitting our $120,000 end-of-quarter goal will help ensure that we have enough resources for every one of those states. Help us out with a donation if you can.

There are a couple of extra challenges. First, this year the redistricting process is likely to be shortened because of COVID-19-related delays in getting census data to the states. That means we have to be even more vigilant to prevent Republicans from pushing through manipulated maps without any accountability or transparency.

At the same time, GOP legislators are working overtime to pass harmful voter suppression bills, and we have to call attention to this coordinated campaign to block access to the ballot box. Finally, there's action on the federal level, too: The democracy-reforming For the People Act passed in the House this month and we need to get it through the Senate.

Is it a lot of work? Yes. But this is the moment we were made for. When A.G. Holder launched the NDRC with the support of President Obama, he knew there would be obstacles. So far we've overcome every one of them with your help -- and I know the same will be true in 2021.

Diane, if you believe in the work we're doing to restore our democracy and make sure everyone has an equal say in the direction of our country, I'm asking you to make a donation today to support the NDRC. Will you pitch in to our end-of-quarter goal?

Gratefully,

Kelly Burton
President

A.G. Holder: If the NDRC is successful in undoing manipulated maps, we will be able to achieve a system in which everyone's vote counts.

Since 2017, the NDRC has executed a comprehensive redistricting strategy that shifts the redistricting power, creating fair districts where Democrats can compete. Our victories have been made possible by our strong community of grassroots supporters.

If you want to receive periodic updates from the NDRC on our fight for fair maps, text MAPS to 36787. Text HELP for help, STOP to end. Msg & Data rates may apply.

We know we send a lot of emails, but we think it's important to keep you updated with the latest information on Republican gerrymandering and voter suppression and how we're fighting back -- regardless of whether you choose to donate. The momentum is on our side

People from all 50 states have taken action. Will you make a donation to help keep the momentum going?

Help us keep the momentum going »

When President Obama emailed you this week, he stressed the importance of the Senate acting soon and passing a comprehensive voter protection bill, especially as we witness recent attempts to suppress the vote in 43 states -- including the successful passage of a shameful bill in Georgia.

The All On The Line team believes the For the People Act will help combat the onslaught of voter suppression attempts that President Obama warned about. We launched a grassroots advocacy campaign to pass this bill -- but it will take roughly $18,750 a week to fund the infrastructure for a grassroots campaign like this.

We set an end-of-month goal of raising $37,500 (two weeks of funding for our advocacy efforts) to continue our grassroots campaign to pass S1 into law. Will you make a donation right now to support our work?

In his email, President Obama also mentioned that while we've made a great deal of progress in this country, "there are more steps to take and more bridges to cross."

The All On The Line team is championing S. 1 (the Senate counterpart to H.R. 1) because we're committed to taking those next steps and crossing the necessary bridges to make our country more fair for everyone. But we need your help.

We just launched our multi-state campaign to pass the For the People Act -- help us keep the momentum going by hitting our end-of-month goal of raising $37,500. That will help fund two weeks of our outreach efforts.

Let's pass the For the People Act,
Saumya

“We” is the single-most powerful word in our democracy

We the People. We shall overcome. Yes we can. And what a glorious task we are given to continually try and improve our great nation.
‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌

Diane,

Threats to the right to vote still persist more than 56 years after "Bloody Sunday"' -- the day when civil rights heroes, like my friend John Lewis, were beaten by police on the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma. These young and brave activists were peacefully marching for voting rights -- and though the courage of all those who marched that day helped pave the way for the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, the struggle still continues.

This year's anniversary of "Bloody Sunday" should serve as a reminder that the march for our fundamental rights is not yet over. There are more steps to take and more bridges to cross.

The All On The Line team has a plan to secure voting rights. It starts with helping folks like you ask Congress to pass the For the People Act. Can I count on you to make a donation to support their pursuit of making our democracy work for everyone?

Within the past decade, there have been new -- yet familiar -- threats to the fundamental tenets of our democracy. And over the last year, attacks on the right to vote have only escalated. More than 250 voter suppression bills have been introduced in 43 states, including Georgia -- a state where Black, Asian, and young voters turned out in droves in recent elections.

We know these undemocratic attempts to codify voter suppression are no accident -- they are deliberate attempts to undermine our democracy. But we can continue the work of the generations that came before us to secure the right to vote for every American. There is a clear path forward. We just have to be brave enough to go down that road.

I believe the single-most powerful word in our democracy is "we." We the People. We shall overcome. Yes we can. And what a glorious task we are given to continually try and improve our great nation.

That's what the For The People Act will do. It will help improve this nation. So here's what I'm asking: Will you make a donation to All On The Line? They are working to make sure the Senate hears from their constituents before the For the People Act is voted on. This sort of advocacy work is essential to the path of protecting and expanding the right to vote.

I believe that loving this country requires more than singing its praises or avoiding uncomfortable truths. It requires the occasional disruption and the willingness to speak out for what is right.

It's time to make our voices heard,
Barack Obama

ALERT: Here’s what happened in Georgia

Yesterday, Republicans fast tracked a voter suppression bill. And then things escalated.
‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌

Help fight back against voter suppression bills »

FIRST: As Georgia Secretary of State, Brian Kemp orchestrated voter roll purges -- including one in the lead-up to his 2018 election as governor that election-law experts consider the "largest mass disenfranchisement" in U.S. history.

NEXT: In 2020 and 2021, voters fought back by turning out in droves to elect two senators and the president of their choice, without any evidence of widespread fraud.

THEN: Last night, the gerrymandered General Assembly fast tracked SB202 -- one of nearly two dozen voter suppression bills introduced in Georgia -- which drastically changes vote-by-mail, restricts drop boxes for absentee-voting, increases unnecessary voter ID requirements, and even criminalizes giving water to voters standing in line -- and then Governor Kemp signed it into law behind closed doors that same day.

We need to take action. Organizers on the ground in Georgia have been fighting against these blatantly racist voter suppression bills -- but the gerrymandered state legislature and the governor who manipulated his own election in 2018 to beat Stacey Abrams will stop at nothing to silence voters.

They know that the record-breaking voter turnout in 2020 and the January runoff -- especially with Black voters -- is a threat to their undemocratically-secured power.

One way to help voters in Georgia right now is to pass the For the People Act. This one nation-wide bill would help combat the 250+ voter restriction bills across the country -- including Georgia's SB202. We are running a robust grassroots effort in target states to secure support from key senators. Chip in now.

A.G. Holder believes the passage of SB202 is a shameful attempt to silence the will of the people and called out Republicans for their willingness to attack our representative democracy.

After losing recent elections, Georgia Republicans had a choice: pursue policies that would gain them more support or suppress the vote of the people they claim they want to represent. They've chosen to use lies about non-existent voter fraud as a pretext to pursue discriminatory measures that will make it harder for people, especially people of color, to cast a ballot. A.G. Holder

Georgia Republicans know this bill isn't popular with voters -- it's why the governor signed it into law so quickly behind closed doors at the State Capitol. In fact, Representative Park Cannon was arrested just for knocking on the door to try to witness the signing.

Instituting undemocratic changes behind closed doors is a textbook example of lack of transparency and accountability in government. We can take action to make meaningful change, though.

Donate to our For the People Act fund to help us connect voters in states like Georgia, Arizona, and Pennsylvania to their senators and ask for their support. It takes roughly $18,750 a week to keep these efforts running -- chipping in any amount helps!

Across the country, state legislatures are implementing similar voter suppression laws under the guise of addressing mythical widespread "voter fraud."

But as President Obama said, "election integrity" bills and the false narratives around them are misnomers -- they are just a coordinated scheme to formalize voter suppression tactics.

Help us fight back!
