If our eventual nominee has nothing in their bank account after a long primary, we're in big trouble

Let me tell you about Barack Obama's 2008 campaign.

DemocratsJoin us.
Let me tell you about Barack Obama's 2008 campaign.

Republicans had their nominee chosen by March, but the fight on the Democratic side was tough that year -- and we didn't have the nomination locked down until June. That put us two months behind our opponents' organizing, fundraising, and infrastructure-building -- two months that were hard to make up.

This year is no different. We have an amazing, but historically large field of Democratic presidential candidates and no idea how long our primary will last. What we do know is that if our eventual nominee has $0 in their bank account after a long primary, we're in big trouble -- unless we have a strong DNC.

Tom Perez and his team are working right now to defeat Donald Trump in 2020. We need to invest in good organizing -- and that's exactly what the DNC is doing. Good organizing got Barack Obama to the White House and is the only way to defeat Trump. That's why the DNC launched Organizing Corps 2020, a super smart program to train an army of organizers in critical battleground states ready to go work on the general election. We also need to reach more people online, and the DNC has made historic investments in data and technology. And while our incredible candidates navigate the primary process, the DNC needs to hold Trump and his Republican allies accountable. So, the DNC just launched an unprecedented effort to do just that through its War Room. In short, I couldn't be more proud of the work Tom Perez and his team are doing. They are stepping up and so should we.

Each month the Democratic National Committee has big deadlines like the one tomorrow at midnight. Whether or not we hit those deadlines will determine if the DNC is capable of sending a Democrat to the White House and winning seats up and down the ballot -- so, I gotta ask:

Will you donate $3 before tomorrow's critical deadline to help Democrats win up and down the ticket? Every cent you give will go towards electing Democrats in 2020.

Let's be clear: I'm not saying you shouldn't donate to your favorite candidates -- as someone who worked on President Obama's campaigns, I can tell you firsthand that they absolutely appreciate your support!

But what I am saying is that your donation to the Democratic Party today is a surefire way to make sure that whoever our Democratic nominee is will have the support they need to beat Donald Trump in November 2020.

Luckily, the Democratic Party has launched some cool programs to help our nominee take down Trump and his allies in 2020: Organizing Corps 2020 is going to recruit, train, and pay more than a thousand young organizers to work next year's election; the War Room is going to shape the narrative about how Trump is hurting American families in key battleground states; and their landmark Data Warehouse will completely change how campaigns use and share data.

But those programs won't reach their full potential without your support before tomorrow's deadline.

Donate $3 before tomorrow's deadline to help support the Democratic Party's awesome work.

Thanks for standing with Democrats,

Dan

I hope you'll give me a few minutes to explain why I am so excited about our Democratic slate before Tuesday's deadline:

As a strong supporter of the DNC, I know that you want everyone to have their fair shot at the American Dream.

DemocratsJoin us.
I'm excited about the incredible slate of candidates running to be our next Democratic presidential nominee, and not just because I am committed to being neutral. Our candidates share common goals that represent who we are as Democrats, in sharp contrast to Trump. Just take a look at a few of the policies they're running on:
  • Helping America's middle class get ahead
  • Ensuring that every American can access affordable, quality health care
  • Providing affordable higher education so students can graduate debt-free
  • Facing climate change head-on and creating more good-paying, clean-energy jobs
As a strong supporter of the DNC, I know that you want everyone to have their fair shot at the American Dream. Donald Trump only cares about one thing: Donald J. Trump.

Trump and the RNC raised a whopping $76 million in the first quarter of this year alone -- that's 21 times more than President Obama had raised for his reelection by this point. Our eventual Democratic presidential nominee needs a strong DNC now to build the strong party infrastructure capable of lifting them and their policies to victory. We have already started the critical work of building this infrastructure, which is why Tuesday's deadline is so important. We rely on you, our grassroots supporters, to power us at the DNC! We are proud that two-thirds of our support is from our grassroots. You truly power the party.

Will you donate $3 before Tuesday at midnight to ensure we have the resources in place to put Democrats in the White House and seats nationwide who will fight for our values? We won't be able to do it without you.

People always ask me why they should support the DNC. We have nearly 20 people running for President, and the one thing we know is that every single one of them will need a strong party infrastructure to win. That means the best possible, data, organizing, research, digital assets, and so much more. The earlier we do the work, the more effective -- and cost-effective -- it is. No matter who wins the nomination, our eventual Democratic presidential nominee will need to have the full force of the Democratic National Committee behind them.

In order to win the White House and seats nationwide next year, we have to invest now, while it's still early in the race -- waiting until Democrats have chosen our nominee will be too late. Our eventual nominee will inherit our party's organizing, fundraising, and data operations, so in order to be ready to hit the ground running in the general election, I am asking you to make your first contribution to the DNC of 2019 right now.

Donate $3 before Tuesday's deadline to support the critical work the DNC is doing to ensure Democrats win nationwide in 2020.

Thanks for your ongoing support of Democrats.

A wake up call

Trump and the RNC are already firing on all cylinders to win four more years in the Oval Office for this administration, and our party has to match their energy now if we hope to stand a chance.

DemocratsJoin us.
Hey -- I wanted to make sure you didn't miss this news:

Trump's Massive 2020 War Chest is a Wake-Up Call for Democrats
Donald Trump's 2019 fundraising numbers are staggeringly high -- so high that he's got more cash for his re-election than any other sitting president in history has had at this point in the race -- 21 times more than President Obama.

The headline is right -- this has to be a wake up call for all Democrats. Trump and the RNC are already firing on all cylinders to win four more years in the Oval Office for this administration, and our party has to match their energy and engagement now if we hope to stand a chance.

You're an integral member of the Democratic Party, so I hope you'll take a moment to hear more about what Trump's numbers mean for our fight to defeat him in 2020. First, will you rush a $3 donation to the DNC to help our party fight back against Trump and Republicans? We urgently need to catch up if we hope to win the White House and seats nationwide next year.

This is where Trump's campaign currently stands compared to Democrats, and what the DNC is already doing to level the playing field for the general election:

TRUMP'S HEAD START

Trump filed for re-election on the very day he was sworn into office, so he's had the past two years to build his operation and lay the groundwork for his re-election.

The truth is, Trump never really stopped campaigning. He's been fundraising off some of his most outrageous and damaging policies -- while working families have suffered the consequences. He fundraised off his wasteful emergency declaration over his border wall, the GOP's sham tax bill that lines the pockets of billionaires, and even just recently aimed to raise a whopping $1 million dollars in response to the release of the damning Mueller report.

Trump's massive fundraising haul means that he'll have a dramatic head start on any of our potential 2020 nominees. But we can close the gap if we come together to invest in our party now, while it's still early.

AFTER THE PRIMARY

We have a lot of incredible Democrats running for president this year. That's a good thing for our party -- it presents our voters with a strong field of candidates to choose from and offers a wealth of ideas on how to build a country we can all be proud of.

It also means that our candidates will spend the next year focused on securing our party's nomination before they can pivot to take on Trump directly. This primary process will be expensive -- one of Trump's senior campaign staffers even said they expected our party to be "bruised, battered, and broke," after the primary. But we cannot and will not let that happen.

By investing in our party now, even before we've selected a nominee to carry our party's banner in the general election, we'll be able to give our eventual nominee and Democrats nationwide a huge boost the moment they enter the general election, putting them in the best possible position to take on Trump and win.

WHAT THE DNC IS DOING

Our eventual nominee will inherit the DNC's infrastructure the instant the general election begins, which is why we've been working day and night to build out the organizing, data, tech, and voter protection programs our candidates will rely on to win in 2020. Through essential programs like Organizing Corps 2020, the War Room, our Data Warehouse, and full-time voter protection hotline, we'll be at the ready to lift our presidential nominee and Democrats in all 50 states to victory.

Narrowing Trump's lead can't happen without you. Winning in the months ahead will take all of us chipping in what we can, when we can, and we can't wait any longer to match the energy and resources that Trump is amassing at a rapid rate.

Your investment in the DNC now, while it's still early in the race, will have an even greater impact than that same amount will in the final days before Election Day 2020. An early investment in our party will make a tremendous difference in our ability to take on Trump and the GOP, so I am asking you to make your first contribution of 2019 today.

Donate $3 to cut Trump's lead and help Democrats win the White House and seats across the map in the months ahead. Any amount you can contribute will make a huge impact.

I'm so grateful to have you on this team.

"We expect them to be bruised, battered, and broke"

Our eventual nominee for president won't stand a chance unless we keep investing in essential DNC programs while it's still early.

DemocratsJoin us.
Donald Trump and the RNC just released their first quarter fundraising numbers, and they're staggering. Take a look:
$30mm -- Donald J. Trump for President. $46mm -- RNC. $76mm -- Total. To put this all into context, this means Trump's campaign has approximately 21 times more cash on hand than President Obama had at this point in his re-election. With the wind at their backs, Trump's campaign is counting on the Democratic Party to be in disarray after a long and hard-fought primary season. A senior Trump Campaign staffer even went as far to say, "we expect them to be bruised, battered, and broke," after the primary.

But we're not going to let that happen.
The DNC is already getting ready to lift our eventual 2020 nominee to victory the moment the general election begins, which is why your support now, while it's still early in the race, has never been more important.

We can narrow the GOP's lead, but only if we work together starting now. Rush an urgent $3 donation to the One-Term President Fund to help close the gap on Trump's fundraising lead and build a strong party infrastructure capable of defeating Trump and the GOP.

It's clear that Trump and Republicans are taking this race seriously. Our eventual Democratic presidential nominee won't stand a chance unless we invest in the essential DNC programs we'll need to win while it's still early -- so there's never been a more crucial time to make your first contribution to our party of 2019.

Waiting until the general election to build the strong party infrastructure we need to win would be like handing Trump another term on a silver platter. We cannot leave 2020 up to chance, which is why I'm asking:

Can you make a $3 donation to the One-Term President Fund to help Democrats win the White House and seats nationwide next year? The DNC is the only party organization tasked with beating Donald Trump, so your support will make a huge impact.

This fight will not be easy, but I know we can defeat Trump and the GOP if we invest in our party early and often.

Together,

Clayton

P.S. Donald Trump's campaign has approximately 21 times more cash on hand than President Obama had at this point in his re-election race. We have to close the GOP's lead ASAP, so make a $3 donation to the One-Term President Fund if you're committed to electing a Democrat to the White House and winning seats across the country.

[UPDATE] Trump's 2020 machine

Trump's campaign is well on its way to raising the $1 billion they think it'll take to re-elect him.

DemocratsJoin us.
Trump's campaign has announced it's well on its way to raising the $1 billion they think it'll take to re-elect him.

Let me put that into context: Right now, Donald Trump has raised over twice as much as President Obama at this point in his re-election campaign. We have to keep pace -- and as I write, we're at risk of falling dangerously behind.

Rush a $3 donation to the One-Term President Fund now to keep us on track to help Democrats take back the White House and offices up and down the ballot in 2020.

Trump and the RNC are hell-bent on expanding on the list of states Trump won in 2016 by targeting states like Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Mexico, and Nevada -- and they're counting on early money to build a formidable ground game to make it happen.

This should be a wake-up call to Democrats everywhere. The honest truth is no Democratic presidential nominee can take on Trump and the RNC alone -- and our eventual nominee's success or failure will hinge on what the DNC is able to invest right now in data, organizing, technology, and infrastructure.

Will you donate $3 today to the One-Term President Fund to keep us on track to defeat Donald Trump and the GOP in 2020? Any amount you can afford to give will make a tremendous difference early on, when it matters most.

Thanks for your support,

Tom

The three big 2020 headlines you might have missed:

If we don't fight for fairness during this redistricting process, we won't make the progress we need -- no matter who is in the White House.
All On The Line
Diane --

A lot of attention is already being paid to the 2020 presidential primary campaign, and that makes sense -- it's an important election with enormous consequences. Who we nominate is absolutely important, but this is also true:

If we don't fight for equal voting rights and fair districts before 2021's once-in-a-decade redistricting process, we won't make the progress our democracy so badly needs ... no matter who is in the White House.

That's why, as far as I'm concerned, three of the biggest 2020 headlines of the past few weeks had nothing to do with presidential politics:

Three big stories 2020 stories from the past few weeks.

I'll be the first to admit: These aren't the flashiest news stories.

But progress like this is how we'll fix our democracy, Diane. In New Mexico, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed legislation that means more voters will be able to cast their ballots. In Nevada, thanks to Gov. Steve Sisolak, the state is funding an effort to create a fair count in the 2020 Census. And in Seattle, Washington, thanks to a new fund, we'll see a more accurate, meaningful count -- one that will determine the distribution of federal resources and representation for the next decade.

That's how we get closer to a system in which every vote counts as it should -- one in which the next president has a House of Representatives and state legislatures that are not pulled to the extremes by gerrymandering.

We need more states to deliver this kind of progress, and All On The Line is working to do just that. Say you'll do everything possible to make sure the next president isn't hobbled by a gerrymandered House of Representatives.

It's the only way we'll get things done. For two terms, I saw representatives from gerrymandered districts obstruct President Obama's agenda and common-sense policies. And that's what will happen -- again -- if we don't get to work. A gerrymandered Congress will interfere with progress on making health care more accessible and affordable, combating climate change, reducing gun violence, protecting reproductive rights, advancing criminal justice reform, and more.

That's why the news out of Nevada, New Mexico, and Washington is so crucial. And it's why we need to make sure more states deliver the same progress.

Join the All On The Line team today to see how you can help:

Thank you,

Eric Holder

I got my start as an organizer -- can you help me make sure other young people do, too?

Organizing Corps 2020 is the DNC's new program to recruit, train, and pay our next generation of organizers.

DemocratsJoin us.
In an election year as competitive as 2020 will be, we need to be preparing a field operation capable of beating Donald Trump right now -- waiting until the general election will simply be too late. That's why I couldn't be more excited to serve as the Chief Program Officer for Organizing Corps 2020, the DNC's groundbreaking new organizing initiative.

Organizing Corps 2020 is a first-of-its-kind program designed to recruit, train, and pay young people in preparation for the 2020 election. We're focusing on recruiting organizers to work in some of our country's most critical battleground states, including Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin -- states where Trump won in 2016, and where Democrats need to succeed in 2020 in order to win back the White House.

Democrats know that programs like Organizing Corps 2020 are crucial to our path to victory next year and beyond, but if we don't fully fund programs like this they just won't be successful. That's why I'm asking supporters like you for your help:

Can you donate $3 to help recruit, train, and pay our future generation of organizers and help Democrats win back the White House next year?

I worked my first job as a field organizer on Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign -- so when I say that organizers are some of the most important members of a campaign, I mean it. Organizers are the ones working on the ground to build the grassroots momentum needed to win an election and build lasting infrastructure.

One of the things I'm most proud of about Organizing Corps 2020 is that we're actively recruiting students who reflect the diversity of our country, especially those who are from communities that are underrepresented in our democracy -- because we know that including a diverse set of voices in our campaigns makes us stronger, and makes Democrats more likely to succeed.

It costs about $10,000 to put a single organizer through this program, and we're still short of being fully funded. I know that's a lot of money, but the skills and experiences these organizers will gain through Organizing Corps 2020 won't disappear after the election. In fact, investing in a diverse bench of young, Democratic talent will pay dividends in the years and elections to come.

Can you make a $3 donation today to support a young organizer through Organizing Corps 2020 and help elect Democrats up and down the ballot next year?

Thanks so much for supporting our program and the future of the Democratic Party,

Jonae
