Let's win the damn election

Obama - Biden
Diane --

It's been a good day.

But this is a three-step process.

     1. Pass historic health care reform. Check.

     2. Get affirmation from the highest court in the country. Check.

Step three? Win the damn election.

Mitt Romney has been clear he'd repeal Obamacare on Day One. Just another reminder of how much is at stake in November.

Say you're with me

Diane --

This is a good day for millions of Americans who can continue to benefit from the protections and economic security provided by the Affordable Care Act.

While the Supreme Court's decision should put to rest the debate over health care, Mitt Romney and the Republicans in Congress just can't take yes for an answer.

My opponent said a short while ago that the first thing he would try to do as president is repeal the health care law. We can't allow that to happen. So we have to win this election.

Say you're with me on the Affordable Care Act:

If we're drastically outspent

Obama - Biden
Diane --

If we're drastically outspent in this election, there's a very good chance we will lose to Mitt Romney.

This is a distinct possibility. The financial landscape in this race has changed over the last few weeks.

What concerns me is the Obama supporters I've encountered who don't understand that this is what we're facing.

The fundraising deadline this week is a test: Are we going to allow the other side to dominate us, or are we going to prove that elections are decided by everyday Americans pitching in what they can?

Ready to fight? Please donate $3 or more today, ahead of the FEC deadline.

What's at stake here goes beyond the progress we've made so far, or anything the President wants to do in a second term.

What's at stake is the very idea that regular people should still be in control of elections in this country.

Barack Obama proved in 2008 that millions of people giving $10, $20, or $50 at a time are an undeniable force. Today, our campaign is bigger and faster. We're opening more offices and recruiting more volunteers to knock on doors.

If we allow the spending disadvantage to get beyond a certain point, none of that will matter. Mitt Romney will win, and it will be because we couldn't keep up.

We can't let that happen. I'm proud of how we're building this campaign, and I'm not about to let a handful of billionaires prove us wrong.

Donate $3 or more today:

Sad to say

Diane --

I'm sad to say this is probably the last dinner with supporters that Barack and I will be able to host together before the election.

Today's the last day you can chip in to be automatically entered for the chance to join us -- and I hope you will. You can donate all the way up to midnight tonight, when the campaign will randomly select the winners:

https://donate.barackobama.com/Meet-Us-for-Dinner

Thanks for everything you're doing. Every little bit makes a difference.

Hope to see you at dinner,

Michelle

I will be outspent

Diane --

I will be the first president in modern history to be outspent in his re-election campaign, if things continue as they have so far.

I'm not just talking about the super PACs and anonymous outside groups -- I'm talking about the Romney campaign itself. Those outside groups just add even more to the underlying problem.

The Romney campaign raises more than we do, and the math isn't hard to understand: Through the primaries, we raised almost three-quarters of our money from donors giving less than $1,000, while Mitt Romney's campaign raised more than three-quarters of its money from individuals giving $1,000 or more.

And, again, that's not including the massive outside spending by super PACs and front groups funneling up to an additional billion dollars into ads trashing me, you, and everything we believe in.

We can be outspent and still win -- but we can't be outspent 10 to 1 and still win.

More than 2.2 million Americans have already chipped in for us, and I'm so grateful for it. As we face this week's fundraising deadline, please make a donation of $3 or more today.

Every donation you make today automatically enters you to join Michelle and me for one of the last grassroots dinners of this campaign -- today is your last chance to get your name in.

These dinners represent how we do things differently. My opponent spent this past weekend at a secretive retreat for the biggest donors to both his campaign and the super PACs that support him.

I've got other responsibilities I'm attending to.

Donate today to stand for our kind of politics:

Thank you,

Barack

Way more likely than getting hit by lightning

Obama - Biden
Diane --

I wasn't a math major or anything, but I know my way around a calculator.

Your chances of winning Dinner with Barack are MUCH better than you might think.

This isn't some super-mega-never-gonna-win lottery. It's not like getting struck by lightning or eaten by a bear -- or whatever people say when they're trying to get across that something is really, really rare.

Every supporter who enters has a decent shot. It only takes a minute, so get your name in right now before the contest ends tomorrow:

https://donate.barackobama.com/Dinner-with-the-Obamas

Case in point: One campaign staff member who donates regularly was randomly selected. (Sadly for him and good for you -- he's not eligible to win.)

I'll be in touch.

Take this seriously

Obama - Biden
Diane --

For the first time in modern American history, the incumbent (that's us) will get outspent in a re-election campaign -- by some estimates as much as 3-to-1.

Over the last 10 days of this month alone, GOP outside groups will spend $20 million attacking President Obama on TV.

Think about that, then think about what they'll spend over the last 10 days in October.

We have to take this seriously. Four months to go in this election, and we have a huge fundraising deadline coming up in less than a week -- any day we're not chipping away at that disadvantage, we're falling behind.

Please donate $3 or more today.

We don't have billionaires writing $10 million checks, and right now, we can't change the laws that allow the hijacking of our democracy by private money.

What we do have is more than 2 million donors grassroots giving an average donation of $51. Every day between now and November we can combat the huge spending advantage that our opponent and his allies have over regular people.

You can do that here:

https://donate.barackobama.com/Fight-Back

Take our quick survey

Obama - Biden
Diane --

I've written you quite a few emails. Today, I want to hear from you.

Because at 19 weeks out, every decision we make today is more important for this election than the decisions we made yesterday. From staffing plans to on-the-ground organizing strategies, these decisions will only get more important from here.

You're someone who's let us know at some point that you stand behind this president, and you have a stake in how we grow the most effective grassroots army possible between now and November. So we want to hear it straight from you: What's working? How can we inspire more people to join us? And how's this election shaping up from your perspective?

Please take a minute to answer a couple questions here.

What you tell us is going to help shape our strategy to inspire other supporters to help grow this campaign. You'll help determine the very best way we can communicate the President's accomplishments to the rest of the country.

I'm asking you because supporters like you have driven this campaign from the very beginning. The President has counted on you to get us here, and how we move forward from now until November 6th is up to you.

So here's your opportunity to weigh in and let us know what you think:

http://my.barackobama.com/A-Quick-Survey

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Thanks,

"Pioneers" of outsourcing

Truth Team
Diane --

The Washington Post reported this morning that "Mitt Romney's financial company, Bain Capital, invested in a series of firms that specialized in relocating jobs done by American workers to new facilities in low-wage countries like China and India."

This is the same guy that goes around the campaign trail talking a huge game about being able to protect American jobs by standing up to foreign countries like China. But now we know that Romney and his partners made millions while sending American jobs overseas.

This is a critical point, and we need to make sure everyone knows it. Check out this video I recorded today, and share it far and wide:

Video: Outsourcing

Share on Facebook    Share on Twitter    Share via Email
Romney's support of outsourcing didn't just happen in the private sector. As governor of Massachusetts, he vetoed legislation that would have banned companies from shipping state jobs overseas -- and he actually outsourced state jobs to a call center in India.

In contrast, President Obama has a jobs plan that could put up to a million people back to work -- including teachers, cops, firefighters, construction workers, and veterans -- help small businesses create jobs right now, and help to put an end to American jobs being shipped overseas. He's also fighting for tax breaks for companies that bring jobs back to America.

Mitt Romney is fighting for tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas -- the type of companies he ran in the private sector.

This isn't just a policy position for Romney, it's his economic philosophy -- and it's his record.

Read the article, watch the video, and share them both far and wide -- doesn't get a lot more important than this one:

http://my.barackobama.com/Romneys-Record-on-Outsourcing-Video

Thanks,

Stephanie

P.S. -- Chip in $25 or more today, and help make sure we have the resources to spread the truth about Romney's record.

Fly out to meet us

Diane --

For the first 10 years of our marriage, Barack and I lived in an apartment in my hometown of Chicago.

The winters there can be pretty harsh, but no matter how snowy or icy it got, Barack would head out into the cold -- shovel in hand -- to dig my car out before I went to work.

In all our years of marriage, he's always looked out for me. Now, I see that same commitment every day to you and to this country.

The only way we'll win this election is if we can rely on one another like that, all the way to November 6th. Barack is working hard, but he can't do this alone -- he needs your help.

Make a donation today to build this campaign -- when you do, you'll be automatically entered to join Barack and me for a casual dinner:

https://donate.barackobama.com/Barack-and-Me

Your flight, your meal, your accommodations -- that's all taken care of. Just bring yourself and a guest, and get ready to enjoy a good meal together.

Thanks,

Michelle
