We cannot take Black women for granted

It's up to us to change course and get our country back on track.
Friend --

From Harriet Tubman to Sojourner Truth to Shirley Chisholm to Coretta Scott King to Michelle Obama to Kamala Harris, Black women have been at the forefront of progress in this country from day one.

And if you look back to earlier this month in Alabama, you'll see a clear example of what happens when Democrats mobilize in our communities. Ninety-eight percent of Black women who voted in that special Senate election voted for Doug Jones. Without them, Roy Moore would be a U.S. Senator.

While it's true that Black women support the Democratic Party in incredibly large numbers, it's also important that we bring people of all backgrounds into the fold. The only way Democrats can take back Congress in 2018 is if every single one of us gets involved.

Donate $3 before tomorrow's end-of-year fundraising deadline if you're ready to help Democrats organize nationwide in 2018.

We can't take the support of Black women for granted. We have to listen to and empower these voices every single day -- not just when there's an election coming, but all of the time.

After all, that's what the Democratic Party is all about. We are the party that opens our doors to everyone and fights on behalf of all Americans, no matter where they live or what they look like.

Everything we do between now and Election Day will impact our ability to win back control of Congress. Let's make sure Democrats have the resources to organize and win.

Chip in $3 ahead of tomorrow's end-of-year deadline to help Democrats get to work in every community, all across the country.

Jenny sent me your info - is it right?

Hi there --

My re-election campaign is facing a really important FEC deadline on Sunday. To win my race in 2018, I'll really need your help. Here's what my finance director, Jenny, tells me about your current status:
Name: DianeA
Email: awolofa@yorkteaparty.org
Re-Election Founding Donor: Not yet

I could sure use your help to win in 2018. The fact is, my race isn't going to be a cake walk. While my opponents might be a bit "out there" -- case in point: did you see that Corey Stewart recently brought up the old Barack Obama birtherism conspiracy theory again? Seriously, earlier this month he tweeted that Democrats had forged President Obama's birth certificate! -- but whoever the Virginia GOP nominates to run against me is going to have the full backing of national special interests.

During my last Senate race, those groups dropped $28 million against me. We won -- but it took every last supporter stepping up as much as they possibly could to do it. This year is going to be no different.

So I'm asking you: Will you step up and support my re-election with a donation before the year-end deadline?

You can make an online contribution easily by following this link: https://timkaine.com/year-end-deadline

Thank you. Thank you so much.

Tim Kaine

BREAKING: Yet another extremist officially enters VA race

Tim Kaine now has three Republicans trying to defeat him next November. We've already got Corey Stewart, the anti-immigrant, confederate-sympathizing "mini-Trump," and Nick Freitas, the anti-LGBTQ NRA shill -- both of whom want to serve as a rubber stamp for President Trump's extreme agenda in Virginia. Now, after teasing his run with a quiet website update last week, E.W. Jackson is officially in, too.

You may think that a third opponent getting into this race would be more moderate... but you would be wrong. As Tim's research director, I spend a LOT of time looking into these guys, so I know exactly who we're dealing with. Here are the highlights:

E.W. Jackson, like many Republicans, wants to defund Planned Parenthood. But unlike almost anyone else, he has also called it "far more lethal to black lives than the KKK ever was.” Fact check: Planned Parenthood is one of the critical health organizations that provides access to care to many minority communities. He has called President Obama "the Antichrist." As for LGBTQ people? Jackson says they're "very sick" and "perverted."

This guy is beyond out-of-touch -- he's extremely offensive, dangerous, and would embarrass Virginia.

No matter which of these three extreme candidates Tim faces next year, it's clear that the Republican Party of Virginia doesn't have much to offer hardworking families in the Commonwealth. Their candidates would rather demonize our friends and neighbors than offer good ideas to help people.

But that doesn't mean it's going to be a cake walk. Special interests will pour money into this race to try to take Tim out of the Senate. To fight back, he needs every supporter to chip in $15 right now.

Let's show E.W. Jackson, Nick Freitas, Corey Stewart, and everyone else watching Virginia with a close eye that we're ready to build a *huge* grassroots movement behind Tim.

Thanks for your help. I'll keep you posted with the latest updates on our opponents.
