| Diane, I don't need to tell you that this election is a big one for our democracy. But what you may not know is that one of the most important fights will be the one to secure fair maps. Redistricting — with politicians often redrawing electoral maps to try and give their party an advantage — affects every part of our democracy. And it's happening constantly. If we don't do the work today to make maps more fair, gerrymandered maps will continue to drown out the will of the people for years to come. That's why the NDRC has a plan to target the most important races in key states in the fight for fair maps. But that work can get overshadowed without supporters like you stepping up. So can you help fund our efforts to strengthen democracy across the country this year? Anti-democratic forces don't try to bend the maps in their favor just for fun, Diane. They do it so they can continue to drive their extreme, unpopular agenda. And that can lead to majorities that don't represent the will of the people taking away things like affordable health care, reproductive freedom, and even basic civil rights. I know that the race for the White House gets most of the attention in a year like this — and it certainly is crucial. But it's also important for people like you to keep your eye on the long game.
