Diane -- When the Supreme Court ruled that federal courts won't limit partisan gerrymandering, it was a setback for our movement. But as President Obama pointed out, we can't count on a single ruling from the Court to save our democracy -- instead, it's up to us to do the work.

With another vacancy now on the Supreme Court, our movement could be facing more setbacks in the years ahead. If we lose another seat to a conservative justice, it could make our work to fight racial gerrymanders and enforce the Voting Rights Act that much harder -- but it also makes our work to win elections next month that much more important.
