Make a plan to vote

President Obama says the redistricting process will determine if folks have an equal voice in their government.

Barack Obama: Those maps will stand for 10 years, that could mean a decade of fairly drawn districts where folks have an equal voice in their government, or it could mean a decade of unfair partisan gerrymandering.

The president is right -- the redistricting process will determine if folks are given a fair shake in our political system. We must elect fair map advocates this fall to end map manipulation in 2021.

Make a plan to make your voice heard this election. Here are two tasks you'll need to complete to cast your ballot this fall:

1. Register to vote and confirm your voter registration

If you're already registered, now is a good time to make sure your voter registration is up-to-date.

2. Make a plan to vote this fall

Voting looks different this year. If you plan to vote in-person, take a moment to confirm your polling location. If you plan to vote by mail or drop box, request your absentee or mail-in ballot.

Already voted? Congrats! Now make a donation to help fuel our grassroots voter outreach and we'll take you off the list of folks we're sending "make a plan" reminders during the next few weeks.

Voting during a pandemic makes having a plan to vote even more important than usual. Make sure you are prepared.

Thanks for making a plan,
The AOTL Team
