Sunday: Stand your ground in Hampton

Friend --

The President is back on the campaign trail this month, talking about the important accomplishments of this movement and how we can keep moving America forward in this fall's elections.

Republicans are talking about something else: moving America backward. Just last week, John Boehner -- the would-be Republican Speaker of the House -- said of the Bush years, "We are not going to be any different than we've been."

At least five different Republican Senate candidates, all running in close races, have said they would support abolishing the Department of Education. Many of them would also like to "phase out" Social Security and Medicare. And one even wants to get rid of maternity coverage.

These are the people who would hold power if the Republicans took back Congress -- but we won't let that happen. By working together and asking folks to commit to vote this fall, we can keep moving America forward.

Will you join us in Hampton? Here are the details:

What: Vote 2010 Event

Where: Nugent House

Hampton, VA 23666

When: Sunday, October 3rd
3:00 pm

Yes, I can make it.

No, I can't make it.

If you can't make that event, see if there's another one near you.

President Obama and the Democrats in Congress have passed major reforms for Wall Street and health insurance and brought the last of our combat troops home from Iraq. Now they're fighting to create green jobs and to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell. That's moving America forward.

But Republican candidates want to take us back to the policies of the Bush years -- and even further.

We cannot let that happen. OFA volunteers across the country will be knocking on doors and calling voters across the country this week -- and I hope you can join them in Hampton. RSVP here:
