What President Obama told me

2012
Friend --

I've sat down with the President for a number of meals over the years, but there's one in particular that stands out to me.

Just before I headed out to Chicago to get this campaign off the ground this spring, we had lunch together to talk about the work ahead -- and I asked if he had any final words of advice. Here's what he said:

"This campaign has to be about the grassroots. Remember that."

These aren't just words. They are the fundamental principle of how we're building the campaign organization, and how we compete against the massive special interests aligned against us.

That's what this dinner initiative is all about. It presents four supporters with the pretty incredible opportunity to share a meal with the President, but it also represents the core values of our campaign. The President wants supporters like you at the table, in every sense of the phrase.

By giving $5 today, you'll help build an organization that's funded at the grassroots level by folks across the country.

And if you win, you're in for a meal you'll never forget.

So give it a shot -- pitch in $5 or more today to help grow this grassroots campaign, and you'll be automatically entered for the chance to have dinner with the President:
