Virginia: Go vote today

2012
Friend --

Today's the day: It's time to vote. For months, supporters like you have been working to get the word out about candidates who will work to represent our values in office and issues that affect the future of Virginia.

So if you haven't already, go vote today and make sure that work has been worth it.

A lot of things can get in the way of making it to the polls, so here's an easy guide to making sure you cast your ballot:

1. Plan - Plan exactly when you'll vote today: on the way to the store, at lunch, or later in the afternoon. Just make sure to set aside a time that you know you can vote. Want to double your impact? Bring a friend.

2. Check your polling place - Need to look up your polling place? Not a problem, try our handy polling place locator here:

3. Spread the word - Once you've made your plan, encourage family and friends to go vote, too. It doesn't matter if you call, text, or tweet that you're voting -- in fact, you can use these links to share that you're voting right now:

A little nudge or reminder can make all the difference in whether someone votes.

These elections are where we determine who represents us on the state and local level -- from schools to our infrastructure to state and city budgets.

But what happens today in our state and local politics affects our national politics, too. By voting for candidates who will protect our progress and stopping attempts that aim to restrict our rights, we'll make sure our last three years of accomplishments don't get rolled back by the other side.

And we'll send a strong message that we're not about to slow down in making more.

So plan a time, check your polling place, vote, and spread the word. Because today Virginia is counting on you:
