The end of congressional crises?

Organizing for Action
Diane --

Late last week, Congress passed a two-year bipartisan budget agreement that will add jobs and boost our economy -- and yesterday, the President signed it.

This is a big step forward. Nobody got everything they wanted, but this agreement meets some important objectives outlined by President Obama -- like relief from arbitrary and harmful sequester cuts, and support to programs that help middle-class families and our military.

But this isn't a completely done deal yet. A vocal minority in Congress could still derail it by pushing extreme parts of their agenda through additional riders to the spending bill.

We can't let that happen -- add your name in support of a bipartisan budget agreement.

Some congressional leaders have made a pastime of governing from crisis to crisis in the name of their extreme views. But despite the messes they've made, our economy has been making steady progress for the past six years.

We can't afford any more self-inflicted economic wounds. This deal keeps us from defaulting on our obligations and puts us on a steady path. Now we just need to make sure Congress follows through and avoids a shutdown.

Add your name, and we'll be in touch with more soon.
