DianeA, Since Betsy DeVos was narrowly confirmed to lead the Department of Education, she has crossed many things off of her to-do list. Here are some of the highlights: Cut back investigations into abuses by for-profit colleges Rescinded Obama-era Title IX protections Curtailed Education Department civil rights cases Picked the CEO of a private student loan company to lead Office of Federal Student Aid Make no mistake, the effects of these policies are already being felt. But there are even more bad ideas where these came from - and our children, teachers, and communities cannot afford any more shortcuts. Now, she wants to gut public education funding in favor of “school choice” - funneling much needed taxpayer money away from our public schools. Tim Kaine has worked to fight against her most egregious offenses, but she has still pushed through far too many pieces of her radical agenda. We want to hear from you.
