In a brazen affront to democracy, Ohio's redistricting process has reached a new low. The proposed state legislative maps, unveiled by conservative leaders, are an audacious power grab that tramples on the principles of fair representation.

…we allow this to stand unchallenged; we endorse an alarming precedent. The House map doles out an unconscionable 62 Republican districts, leaving a mere 37 for Democrats. Similarly, the Senate map serves up 23 Republican districts to just 10 for Democrats. This is a stark departure from Ohio's diverse and closely divided electorate.
THEN:
…we must act decisively. The time for complacency is past. Last week, the Republican-led Commission gave the public less than 48 hours to respond in public comment meetings. This is a deliberate attempt to stifle the voice of the people.
