We did it - a big step forward on climate

Organizing for Action
Diane --

I get pretty excited when I get to email with good news -- and this is some really great news:

For years now, the deniers and the naysayers have argued that President Obama couldn't lead the world to an ambitious global agreement on climate change. Well Diane, he just did.

Yesterday, for the first time in history, every country in the world agreed to do their part in tackling climate change.

This is a major victory. We knew that if we fought for the Clean Power Plan and for growing clean energy, and against the lies and misinformation of the climate change deniers, we would win.

Now we need to keep the momentum going. Say you stand with President Obama and countries around the world who are united on climate change.

This isn't the end of the road, or all that we'll need to do -- climate change is affecting us everyday, and the polluters and special interests are still going to try and block progress at every chance they get.

But today marks a watershed moment in the fight against climate change -- and it's one we can all be proud of.

Thanks for everything you've done in this fight, and for what's to come -- say you're ready for it:

This is so important, Diane

I recently returned from Paris, where I met with leaders from nearly 200 countries who all feel the same urgency for addressing climate change that we do, and I wanted to touch base with you because this is so important.

You and I have been at the forefront of this fight for a long time now, Diane -- I'm asking you to continue to stand with me to make sure America keeps leading on climate action.

Right now, we're developing more affordable energy from solar and wind than ever before, and we're continuing to significantly reduce our carbon emissions. Just last month, we stood our ground by saying no to the Keystone XL pipeline, because we know that such investments work against our duty to protect our planet for future generations.

We're making real progress together, and that should give us hope, but we need to keep facing this problem head-on, with long-term solutions.

That's why I need you standing with me on this, Diane -- so add your name to say you're committed to fighting climate change:

Thanks for doing this today, Diane. We'll talk again soon.

If you support equal representation, add your name:

DemocratsJoin us.
Diane --

Today, the Supreme Court heard arguments on Evenwel v. Abbott, a case that has the potential to threaten one of the central tenets of our democracy: One person, one vote.

Diane, my job here at the DNC is to protect and expand the right to vote for all Americans. And I'm asking you to stand with me in this fight.

With this case, the Supreme Court has the opportunity to uphold this basic principle -- that everyone, regardless of who they are or where they live, is entitled to equal representation. Or, the court can side with the conservatives who want to make children under 18, legal permanent residents, and other taxpaying members of our community invisible for purposes of representation. It goes without saying -- there's a lot on the line right now.

Together, we can keep fighting for every single American to be justly and fairly represented by our government. But I need your help -- add your name today to say you're committed to protecting the vote for your fellow Americans:

http://my.democrats.org/One-Person-One-Vote

Thank you for all that you do, Diane. I know that if we stand strong and stick together, we can make a difference.

It's embarrassing, and unacceptable

Organizing for Action
Diane --

President Obama is in Paris this week, joining leaders from nearly every country in the world to work on a long-term, global agreement to tackle climate change.

This conference is incredibly important. It's our chance to show that nations across the globe are united in solving this problem -- with commitments to cut carbon pollution from countries both big and small, industrial and agricultural, developed and developing.

But while the world is coming together to act, here in the U.S. more than 130 members of Congress still won't accept the basic science of climate change.

That's embarrassing, and it's unacceptable.

Help OFA hold the deniers accountable, and support strong global action on climate change.

President Obama is committed to addressing this problem, leading on the international stage, and reaching an ambitious global agreement -- but the deniers in Congress are trying everything they can to derail it. They've already taken some extreme steps.

Many have voted against the Clean Power Plan -- America's commitment to cut our own carbon pollution. Some have even called foreign embassies to tell them they are being misled by the Obama administration. Senator Jim Inhofe, famous for throwing a snowball onto the Senate floor to deny climate change, has even said he might show up in Paris to be a "one-man truth squad."

The international climate talks in Paris are too important to be overshadowed by grandstanding from extreme voices. Join OFA in holding them accountable -- add your name:
