Dear National Day of Service Volunteers,

I love working for the federal agency that leads President Obama's service and volunteer initiative, United We Serve, which inspires millions of us get involved in our communities.

Personally, one of my favorite things is getting to serve alongside other volunteers like you for our National Days of Service and other special events.

That's why I'm writing to ask you to get out and volunteer April 6 to 12 in honor of National Volunteer Week!

You can visit Serve.gov to find a volunteer project near you.

Please share what you're doing on the Serve.gov Facebook page, or via Twitter and tag @Servedotgov.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to serving your community.

In Service,

Patricia Bory (AmeriCorps '97)
Office of External Affairs
Corporation for National and Community Service

P.S. If you happen to be in the nation's capital, come and join a Global Youth Service Day project on the National Mall on Saturday, April 12, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Our partners at Youth Service America and the National Youth Leadership Council are hosting this service event for young people and their parents.  While volunteering, you can also experience the beauty of the cherry blossoms, which should be in full bloom!
