Diane -- Here's why the executive action President Obama just proposed is such a big deal: The President's proposal will protect all federal government contractors from discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity -- this covers a quarter of our nation's workforce, from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. Here's the thing, though: Congress could extend those protections to everyone right now -- the Senate passed the Employment Non-Discrimination Act last year, and we've been waiting for the House ever since. Speaker Boehner isn't just against the bill -- he refuses to bring it up, saying there's "no way" the House will take action on it this year.
