Here's the state of play →

The news the past few weeks has put our fight in the center of the public eye and the reaction is encouraging. This is our moment to make real change for the fair redistricting movement.
All On The Line
Diane --

This is our moment. Gerrymandering is in the public consciousness in a real way and we have an opportunity to fix the broken system.

Here's the state of play → SCOTUS neglected to put an end to partisan gerrymandering, paving the way for conservatives to continue to gerrymander districts across the nation to maintain their ill-begotten political power. The citizenship question is officially off the census. But the fact that the Trump administration pushed so hard for this discriminatory effort should tell us clearly: They're willing to do anything to manipulate maps in 2021. And so, all eyes are on our efforts to create a movement that returns power to the people and restores fairness to our elections.

This is a movement and a moment that calls for all hands on deck. In the past few weeks, President Obama and AG Holder have asked you to step up -- can we count on your support?

Every day, there are so many competing, important stories in the news. But the fact is, fair redistricting is the one issue that has the potential to impact EVERYTHING in the long term. And media outlets know this, too -- from the Washington Post to NPR to the New York Times, outlet after outlet has published stories about gerrymandering and the census. It's not often that the work we do is on front pages across the country, but now is our moment.

Whether you care about access to affordable health care, achieving equal pay, reducing gun violence, protecting voting rights, addressing the border crisis, or dealing with the urgent threat of climate change, gerrymandering is the fundamental structural barrier that prevents progress on these issues.

In too many places, politicians pick their voters instead of voters picking their representatives. And this will continue until politicians are no longer able to manipulate electoral districts to benefit themselves and their party.

What can you do to help? Commit to only support candidates and elected officials who want fair and representative districts. Sign the All On The Line Citizen Commitment to hold elected officials accountable!

It's on all of us to ensure that we have leaders that reflect and represent the diversity and values of our country. And it starts with you.
