Diane -- All workers should have access to paid sick leave -- not just those lucky enough to have the right kind of job. Right now, more than 40 million Americans working in the private sector don't have the flexibility that comes with paid sick leave. When one of them gets sick, they're forced to choose between their health and their paycheck -- and that needs to change. President Obama is taking a big step to help more Americans gain access to paid sick leave. He's about to set new rules that will make sure federal contractors offer paid sick leave to their employees, expanding access for more than 800,000 workers. The Department of Labor is collecting comments on the proposed new standards, and this is your last chance to make your voice heard. Speak up -- add a comment before tomorrow's deadline. Not only is expanding paid sick leave the right thing to do for working families, it's good for our economy. Allowing employees to take paid sick days will help keep illnesses out of workplaces and increase employee retention. That's a win-win situation -- submit a comment now to show your support: https://my.barackobama.com/Speak-Up-For-Paid-Sick-Leave Thanks, Jack Jack Shapiro Director of Policy and Campaigns Organizing for Action | |
