Chip in » Diane -- Now that states have redistricting data, we have already begun to see early drafts of maps! President Obama was right to call this time a "turning point in the redistricting process."
We've been preparing for this moment for a long time. But with the delays in releasing the census data, the redistricting timelines in most states are much more condensed than we originally anticipated. And to be honest, those changes impact our budget and ability to respond to situations in our target states.
I just checked the fundraising stats from the last few days, and unfortunately, we didn't reach our final August goal -- we fell $19,610 short.

You've probably noticed we talk a lot about goals, deadlines, and benchmarks. To tell you the truth, it's probably the least favorite part of my job.
But I also understand that unless we raise enough money, we won't be able to continue educating, engaging, and mobilizing people effectively during map drawing.
As I'm locking in our next set of fundraising goals, I wanted to reach out and see if we could take this original goal over the finish line.
