Diane -- Growing up in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, my grandfather was a local union president. My parents worked for decades at a nearby grocery store, and now, my dad is experiencing the revival of Ohio's auto industry firsthand -- business is booming at the car dealership where he works today. President Obama has done a lot for my family, and for my hometown in Northeast Ohio, just as he has for Virginia -- so I decided to pay it forward: I became an Obama organizing fellow. You can, too -- and during the most critical moment in this election. Apply now for a fall organizing fellowship in Virginia. The job of an organizing fellow is tough, rewarding, exhausting, and exhilarating. I know I'm making a difference every day when I'm out there talking with voters -- and now, we're racing the clock to November 6th. A typical day? It's anything from setting up a voter registration table in the park, to knocking on doors in a local neighborhood, to logging your data back at the office, to managing a phone bank that night -- and then getting up the next day to do it all again. These positions are unpaid, but you'll get some great experience, and you'll have an incredible amount of responsibility -- especially when you think about the decisive role Virginia is going to play in this election. The issues you're passionate about, from LGBT equality to affordable health care, are on the line -- and it's up to you to make sure that as many voters as possible in cities and towns across Virginia cast a ballot this fall.
