I need your help, Diane

Take a moment, Diane, and think about where we were back in 2009. Our economy was on the verge of collapse, and we faced the biggest recession in nearly a century. A broken health care system meant more and more parents having to choose between putting food on the table or paying their bills. Our military was waging two wars overseas, while many of the brave men and women who served our country were unable to be who they were or love who they loved. Back then, there were a lot of cynical people who said we could never make the change we knew we needed. They made their bets against us, and they thought they had a sure thing. We proved them wrong. I hope you'll never forget the role you played in making that happen -- because I'm going to need your support now more than ever. Those cynics haven't gone away, Diane, and now they're trying to tell us that the progress we've made in my two terms in office is it -- that our country can't move forward anymore. We're going to prove them wrong again, and you're going to have an important role to play in that, too.
