Diane -- The Supreme Court just issued a momentous decision affirming that same-sex couples all over the country have the constitutional right to marry. This day was a long time coming. We wouldn't be here without the dedication of so many people across the country who believe in the fundamental principle that we are all equal, and now same-sex couples will no longer be denied the rights, benefits, and dignity afforded to all married couples. This is a day of pride and celebration, for LGBT Americans and our country as a whole, as we march forward into a future that is more equal and just. So, on this momentous day, make a commitment to being part of that future. Earlier this month, I had a chance to officiate the wedding of Robert and Alex, a couple from Miami Beach in my home state of Florida. Robert said he used to think he would never have the opportunity to get married. Today's decision means that opportunity is now available to all Americans, regardless of whom they love. But the fight for full equality is not over yet. GOP-controlled legislatures across the country have been introducing measures to allow discrimination against our LGBT friends and neighbors under the banner of "religious freedom" -- with support from Republican presidential hopefuls. If you believe we need to keep moving forward, add your name to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in 2016: http://my.democrats.org/Celebrate-Marriage-Equality We wouldn't be here today without you, Diane.
