GOP CONVENTION UPDATE: Day 1 "highlights"

DemocratsJoin us.
Read on for updates from the first day of the Republican convention -- then pitch in to make sure we beat them in November:

Diane --

Yesterday in Cleveland, Republican Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn called the GOP the "great opportunities party." She may want to take a look at some history -- because the last Republican president's reckless policies preceded the worst recession in modern American history, and cost millions of Americans their jobs. And this Republican convention is all about bringing those same disastrous policies back.

The theme for today at the GOP convention is "Make America Work Again," so we're going to hear a lot about making America work -- for folks at the top, at the expense of the middle class. By the end of the day, it'll be clearer than ever that we can't afford Donald Trump in the White House, and we can't afford to let Republicans keep their control of Congress. So we've got to keep building our momentum -- we can't let up. Can you pitch in $3 or more right now?
