Breaking 2016 news, Diane: Senator Bernie Sanders just announced that he is running for president. We're more than a year away from the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia -- when we'll actually choose our Democratic nominee and the 45th President of the United States. But we know one thing for sure: Having a wide range of progressive views in this race is good for the dialogue of our party and for our country. And Bernie Sanders is a progressive champion. He's represented the people of Vermont for years in the Senate after 16 years in the House of Representatives. Throughout his career, he's been a fierce advocate for working families and has a strong record of supporting equal pay for women, working to raise the minimum wage, taking action on climate change, and fighting for an economy that works for the middle class. Diane, help us get to 50,000

I've been in this business for a long time, and right now, I think I can say that there's never been a better time to be a Democrat. I really believe this, Diane. On top of that, I've got the best job in the world, working every day to make life better for Americans all across the country, and it is knowing that I've got people like you standing beside me that really gets me out of bed every morning. I couldn't be more proud of all the things we've accomplished together and how well we've banded together in holding up the values and traditions that make us Democrats -- despite a never-ending string of attacks from our friends on the other side of aisle. Republicans doubted us at every turn, but in spite of their opposition, we've made a lot of progress. We've seen our unemployment rate drop drastically and millions of people are back at work. Millions of Americans are getting health coverage. More students are graduating from high school and giving college a chance, and we are securing a better, brighter future for the generations to come. Be proud of all that, Diane. We stuck to our guns and it's paying off -- that's exactly why I am 100% certain that now is the best time to be a Democrat. And, Diane, as long as we keep working together, things can only get better. Now, where there is a willingness to truly commit, there is the ability to succeed.
