Dear National Service Supporter,

On Friday, May 1, the White House will honor the AmeriCorps VISTA program and Employers of National Service initiative during a Champions of Change event. These two initiatives are premier examples of the ways national service creates a pathway to opportunity for members and the communities they serve.

We invite you to watch this special event on the White House livestream at whitehouse.gov/live beginning at 1 p.m. ET and encourage you to follow the discussion on social media using the hashtag #WHChamps

Here's what you can do on social media:

Check out the 10 amazing Champions who will represent national service at the White House.

Here's more on what you'll be hearing at this event:

AmeriCorps VISTA is celebrating its 50th anniversary on the frontlines of the War on Poverty and continues to create lasting local collaborations that address our nation's most-pressing challenges. Seven VISTA members spanning the scope of the program's vibrant history will be on hand to discuss their service.

President Obama announced the Employers of National Service initiative on the White House lawn during AmeriCorps' 20th anniversary celebration to encourage the hiring of AmeriCorps and Peace Corps alumni. More than 200 employers have answered the President's call to join Employers of National Service, and three charter members of the initiative will represent this fast-growing program.

Thank you for your support of national service!

Yours in Service,

Theodore Miller

Chief of External Affairs
