Dear Friends in Service,

The Corporation for National and Community Service is excited to join in celebrating National Volunteer Week (April 13-18) and Global Youth Service Day (April 17-19).

National Volunteer Week, was established by Points of Light in 1974. This week is about taking action and encouraging individuals and their respective communities to be at the center of social change – discovering and actively demonstrating their collective power to make a difference.

At the end of this week, young people from across the United States and around the world will be serving through thousands of projects in their communities honoring the important contributions and leadership of young people through service in their communities.

We hope you will join National Volunteer Week and Global Youth Service Day efforts by finding opportunities to serve in your community. To find volunteer opportunities visit www.serve.gov.

Sincerely,

Ted Miller
Chief of External Affairs
Corporation for National and Community Service
