Each year, an estimated 3.5 million employers participate in Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. If just a small portion of these employers open their doors to youth in their communities, that could generate hands-on, career exploration experiences for many young people throughout the country who would not otherwise have this opportunity. President Obama announced that the White House and federal agencies are celebrating Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. This is a joint effort between the White House Council on Women and Girls and My Brother's Keeper Initiative to help young people better understand the connection between what they learn in the classroom and future careers. Do any of the following descriptions apply to you? - Small business owner
- Teacher
- Employee of a great company
- Work in public service
- Volunteer
If so, consider this a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a child's future. We encourage you to join the White House in welcoming youth beyond the children of your own employees to visit your place of work on this day. Invite them to spend the day with you.
