We know how this ends, Diane (and it's really not good)

Right now, Republicans in Congress are just four days away from forcing the second shutdown of the federal government since 2013 -- and I don't know about you, Diane, but I've grown pretty sick of their antics. Because we've already read this script, we know how this movie ends. The first government shutdown ended with more than 800,000 government employees sitting at home, millions of Americans without access to critical programs and services, and a $24 billion hit to the United States economy. Plain and simple: Republicans should have learned from this mistake after making it last time. But it's painfully clear that they are more invested in pandering to the extreme-right of their base than doing what's best for every American -- and we just can't let them keep getting away with this form of reckless governing.
