|Diane -- |
We've known for quite some time that President Obama is going to be a tough act to follow, and last night's State of the Union drove home just how much we've accomplished under his leadership and inspired me to think about what we can do together looking beyond 2016.
We love the President, but we're not in this for any one individual's legacy. We're proud to be Democrats, but we're not here to put points on the board for our party. We do this because we care about building a brighter future for our children and grandchildren, and living up to our ideals to make life a little better for our fellow Americans. We're facing big challenges, both at home and abroad, but we've overcome the odds and accomplished incredible things before, and there is no reason we shouldn't be optimistic about what we can do together in the coming years.

When it comes to protecting the progress we've fought so hard for under President Obama, and reaching the new heights he spoke of last night, we need to do everything we can to make sure we elect Democrats at every level from the White House on down to your statehouse, Diane.
Because the truth is, if the Republicans had their way, they would turn back the clock entirely on the last seven years -- but we simply cannot and will not allow that on our watch.
