Everybody Can Serve!

On this day, we hope you will join millions of Americans in all 50 states and rise to the President's challenge to uphold our collective obligation as citizens. In honor of Dr. King's legacy, volunteers will make #MLKDay a day on, instead of a day off, to strengthen communities across the country by collecting food and delivering meals, refurbishing homes and schools, mentoring students, promoting nonviolence, supporting veterans and military families, and much more. The MLK Day of Service has been the anchor of the Obama Administration's commitment to service and civic engagement. In 2009, President Obama celebrated his Presidential Inauguration honoring Dr. King through service building on the legacy of "self-government" and reminding us all that we can lend our voices, use our skills, and give our time to make an impact.
