The nerve of this guy

He spewed a litany of inaccurate statistics and untrue stereotypes into the microphone, then he walked off stage as if he'd just delivered Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech. He thinks he can spit in the wind and tell folks it's raining, but Trump's history provides us with everything we need to properly forecast his presidency: In the early days of Trump's real estate business, he was investigated and sued by the Department of Justice for housing discrimination when he refused to rent apartments to African Americans. Trump was the face of the "birther" movement, raising the question of whether or not President Obama was an American citizen to anyone he could while demanding to see the President's "long-form" birth certificate. Throughout his campaign, the GOP nominee has repeatedly spread multiple inaccurate and race-baiting tweets with false crime statistics about African Americans, and openly supported violence that occurred at one of his events against a Black Lives Matter protestor when he said, "Maybe [the protestor] should've been roughed up." He's been endorsed by Ku Klux Klan and white supremacist group members -- including David Duke, whose Senate candidacy in Louisiana is based largely on Trump's Republican primary success. Duke's co-host on their white supremacist radio show even beamed in delight over Trump's hiring of the ultra-conservative propagandist Steve Bannon, saying that "We appear to have taken over the Republican Party." The same guy who called Mexican immigrants criminals and rapists, said that he wants to ban Muslims from entering America, and has been sued multiple times for racial discrimination against African Americans at his properties now fashions himself the new standard-bearer for racial equality in America? I don't think so, Diane. Donald Trump is no advocate for equality on any level, but he could still become president. It's up to all of us to stop this guy -- so let's make sure Donald Trump and the Republicans propping him up as fit to lead all lose on Election Day.
