In Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio, judges have determined that the GOP-drawn congressional maps are likely illegal gerrymanders that discriminate along partisan or racial lines. However, in all four cases, elections this year will go forward using those maps. And in two cases, it's because the Supreme Court directly ordered it. When considered alongside the Supreme Court's gutting of the Voting Rights Act, it paints an extremely alarming picture of the future of democracy. Here's the good news: Our plan to fight back doesn't rely on the Supreme Court to do the right thing. Instead, we're investing in 17 Democracy Target states across the country to defend voting rights and help elect more than 300 Democracy Defender candidates who understand what's at stake. We've made incredible progress with this model in recent years, but we need your help to keep all our work going. Securing fair maps and voting rights is critical to protecting our democracy, Diane, and there's too much on the line to sit this one out. Will you pitch in today to help us keep up all our work?
Thank you for your support, Team NDRC
