Judge Merrick Garland

Diane -- President Obama just announced his nominee to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court. Judge Merrick Garland is already a respected member of the federal judiciary, and there's no reason why senators should refuse to evaluate his qualifications for the high court. He is highly qualified, has unimpeachable credentials, and was previously confirmed with overwhelming bipartisan support. Senators on the Judiciary Committee have a responsibility to consider his nomination -- refusing to do so would be purely partisan, and unprecedented. Join OFA in calling on the Judiciary Committee to give Judge Garland a fair hearing and a timely vote. The President has taken his constitutional duty seriously. The fair consideration of a Supreme Court nominee has been extended to every nominee in U.S. history, and this one shouldn't be any different. Soon the Supreme Court will be ruling on big issues that matter to OFA supporters around the country. America deserves a fully functioning Court to make those rulings, and we need the Senate to do its job.
