Republican obstructionism has gone too far, and we have a chance to elect leaders in November who will actually do their jobs. Add your name to take back the Senate.
Time and time again, Republicans in Congress have cast votes to repeal Obamacare, threatening to snatch coverage away from 20 million Americans who now benefit from the law. They shut down the government once, then threatened to do it again as a means of withholding funding from Planned Parenthood, an organization that provides health services for more than 2 million Americans -- many of whom can't afford those services anywhere else.
And right now they don't even want to hold hearings to consider -- let alone vote on -- President Obama's nominee to replace Justice Scalia on the Supreme Court.
At this point, enough really is enough, Diane. It's time for Democrats to stand together and commit to taking back the Senate in November.
For almost two years now, we have seen Republicans in the Senate try to block our progress at every turn, constantly standing on the wrong side of history. And in this election, the stakes are higher than ever.
Because unless we all do our part in this campaign, this Republican Senate might soon be working with President Donald Trump.
We have to elect the next Democratic president, Diane, but we have to give that president a Senate they can work with. If you're ready to do whatever it takes to make sure that happens, then add your name next to mine and stand with us as we gear up to elect Democrats in 2016:
America deserves better, and we have the opportunity right now to elect leaders who take their responsibilities seriously. Let's take advantage of that together.
All the best,
